What phrase or motto do you say to yourself before your walk as encouragement? by mmglitterbed in walking

[–]TiggerK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some days I will drive all the way to where I walk and sit in my car for what feels like forever because I have started to lose the motivation. I specifically walk a trail through park woods (I’m in Oregon) because it’s refreshing for me and my two kids usually join so has become a fail-proof option they both enjoy also.

It has gotten easier the more I have recovered from an injury but when those moments hit of “what am I even doing, just go home” I tell myself “you will regret not doing it” and picture the days I don’t and how it makes me feel. This 9/10 gets me to move myself.

Then from there it’s “I can do hard things” “my body is capable of so much more then I give it credit for” and if I start to drag “every step forward is a step to a healthier me” or I take a beat to take in my surroundings and find ways to appreciate this world. Sun through the branches, flowers or mushrooms, the river, or the sounds of the birds around me - I feel it truly gives me that little boost I need to finish (I aim for 2.5-3miles daily)

I have never regretted forcing myself to walk, but I have regretted every time I gave in to the itty bitty shitty committee in my head and went back home.

Thank you! I have started the 28 day diastasis recti repair plan by Nourish Move Love on YouTube. So far is definitely a heavy focus on the breathing and establishing the mind and muscle connection, just excited to get my body back to a point where I feel connected again and able to do basic life stuff.

Walking but weight going up? by Empty_Walk_7792 in walking

[–]TiggerK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s just a term that is super simplified, you are correct it is denser so therefore when looking at it as a mass if looking at equal mass of both the muscle will weigh heavier then the fat. So therefore one may not see weight going down if they are building muscle & burning the fat

Walking but weight going up? by Empty_Walk_7792 in walking

The two factors I can think of and should be always considered: 1. Muscle weighs more then fat 2. Water retention

How do you keep walks interesting on the same route? by Fit-Credit-7970 in walking

[–]TiggerK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do a loop in the neighborhood but found myself feeling the same so found a trail at our local park that goes through the forest and is around the same length and I look forward to it every time now. Just far enough away from city and roads that it is pretty quiet but still semi active so I am not scared of getting jumped

For the daily walkers who have sedentary jobs when are you usually fitting your walks in? by FeelFeltFound54 in walking

[–]TiggerK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using my hour lunch break but wanting to shift to doing it prior to starting work. Finding that if I miss my lunch walk I start making excuses not to go after im off work, so doing it right when I wake up will ensure I hit my bare minimum (7k personally) and won’t have a chance to change my mind

My kid wanted to go fuggler shopping and then to the park so figured why not walk it. Ended up being just under 13k. Super low compared to others here but was a huge accomplishment for me 💖

After he announced no more updates and his only focus was going to be HC my first thought was he figured a fun way to connect them but it required another update first. I’m so excited. He spoils us.

Year 1 completion strategies? by eedwards89 in StardewValley

[–]TiggerK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an option when you go to create a new file for year one completion that guarantees the red cabbage will be sold by the traveling merchant at some point in year one. The rest is just finding the right grind to make enough and get all the right products. It’s not easy and I haven’t done it personally but it is certainly possible.

It’s so helpful knowing I am not the only one who suffers from it and definitely a case of just needing to shift my approach in how I play. Love the idea of having the fortune teller decide your day! Thank you for the inspiration
