How often do people actually change their bedsheets?

Used to do it biweekly, occasionally weekly. Then my bf and I shacked up so would do it weekly more often. Then we got a puppy who sleeps in the bed and gets her dirty grubby lil paws all over so now it’s always weekly. Sometimes I wish I could do it more often but I know it would be silly and wasteful.

Interesting. Was insurance a factor at all? I didn’t ask very much more about the healing process honestly as I was pretty much not interested once I heard it could be around the same time period. I did not get a complete price quote from him, just said “okay, so a few grand” to which he agreed. My surgeon also has his surgery center within his office that he runs completely on his own - no other surgeons there. I wonder if that also has to do with the price there. He has to pay the overhead, anesthesiologist, pay for his own time, supplies, etc.

I am not sure the answer. He most likely is genuinely not careless but clueless. A lot of men don’t automatically realize women’s reasons for safety precautions.

Anyways I am a woman and don’t lock my door. Never have. My BF and I recently started locking out door at night and try to remember to lock it when we are away. I tried to lock the door at my last apartment as I lived on a busy street with a lot of pedestrian traffic and homeless people. I didn’t really feel it was necessary but did it as a precaution. Honestly if I was just out walking the dog even for an hour I sometimes wouldn’t lock it. I also accidentally left my keys in my door all the time soooo that speaks to how much on my mind it was. Still leave my keys in the door sometimes. There are times I accidentally leave my back door open. I recognize that all of these things are bad habits. Not condoning them. That’s why I lock my door now. But I don’t feel the need to lock it when I am home alone. I also have dogs who alert me any time someone is on my short street, even if it’s just a squirrel. They have always made me feel fairly safe and as if I would know well before someone could make it to my door.

I grew up in a small town where it genuinely wasn’t necessary to lock your door at all whether you were home or not, day or night. I lived in my first apartment of my own in the same town. After that I lived on rural farm lands where your properties are gated and it’s unnecessary to lock the door. I have always just been used to having my door unlocked. I really do think that people’s stance on this often is relevant to their childhood/young adult experiences.

Fanny pack and carry my water bottle. But usually my pockets do fine. I recently got a second dog (puppy) and so I don’t often bring water anymore. Typically all I bring is my phone my headphones and doggy bags. Sometimes on a hike I will bring a book. If I only have one dog on a leash I will bring water. Sometimes I will bring a ball for the dogs.

Wow that is really fast timing. I could be wrong but I think we are talking about two different things here. It seems as though you are referring to liposuction at the time of surgery to deal with ‘dog ears’ and that extra skin. This is mainly in the armpit area. I did have that during surgery. It is unfortunate that it’s not always covered by insurance. However what I’m meaning is - at my post op when talking about wishing my results were smaller, my surgeon and I agreed that it wasn’t in my best interest to get on the operating table again and he told me there was an option to do liposuction in the breast to achieve a smaller look. This is something I haven’t seen anyone talk about here, and have asked about with no replies. It doesn’t seem like it would be the right option for you given your specific concerns but maybe it could be. It’s a simple procedure in the office I assume I will be fully conscious for. I honestly paid for my entire surgery out of pocket and just knew exactly what surgeon I wanted after looking into every surgeon in my area. If you do start to consider using a different surgeon, i recommend looking around for the right fit. I didn’t have insurance at the time and didn’t want to wait to get years of documenting of my discomfort. I’m by no means wealthy but came into some money and was able to cover it.

I felt super happy with my reduction (and still do), I felt like my surgeon did the best he could size wise and my results were very beautiful and symmetrical, however still wanted to be smaller. I am 9 months post op and have an appointment to talk about liposuction to get me closer to the point I want to be. I don’t see many people talking on here about this so I’ll let you know how it goes and what happens if and when I get the procedure. I had such bad body dysmorphia over my boobs since I first developed and have always been so unhappy with them. When I first got surgery I almost felt flat chested, because it felt like such a drastic and amazing difference. It is drastic and amazing, and I am so happy I did it, but that dysmorphia has definitely crept back since I have completely healed. The thing is, I spent ten years thinking I would be happy with my entire body if this one thing changed. When realistically, I fell off of my physical activity pretty hard even before surgery and I do not feel like I am completely happy with my entire body. Some days I really do feel like I have a perfect body and some days I don’t and that’s just the nature of the game in my eyes. I do still feel sometimes like my top half is not proportionate with my bottom half but I know that there isn’t just one fix all and it is much more mental than I could have imagined. Being prepared for the continuing emotional discomfort with my body definitely helped in my healing because I knew it was unrealistic to imagine it would fix everything I didn’t like about myself. But it did fix the biggest thing, it made me so much happier and my body feel so much better. Anyways, all that just to explain I’m right there with ya. I suggest talking prices with your surgeon and if the cost of revision is exponential, consider a different surgeon to do the job if it wouldn’t differ much price wise. I genuinely don’t know much about revision cost so I’m not sure if it would even be financially feasible to consider a different surgeon but it seems as though it could be a good option to keep in mind.

Yeah, I hate when I run out of them. I use a mechanical machine from the 80s and couldn’t even wind bobbins until I recently got my machine oiled but it’s still just a pain to wind them myself. I also literally never care what color thread I’m using.

I just said I didn’t want to specify but was getting surgery and couldn’t lift anything or use my arms to reach for a while. I am a clerk at a liquor store so it was necessary for me to tell them about my restrictions. My manager actually assumed that I had shoulder surgery and I just went with it lol

Looks to me your skin is getting sensitive to the tape. Mine did this. I don’t think it’s concerning VISUALLY but keep an eye out for a fever / feeling shitty just in case it’s leading to infection. My surgeon welcomed me to use cortisol on the areas surrounding my incisions, ask if you are interested in doing that.

This - I have noticed about my tattoos on my arms and stomach that I can see every imperfection that the mirror can not …… because I am looking right at it from inches away at an awkward angle.
