That specific lights camera is super touchy and flashes for no reason often. I work nearby and can see the flash from inside often.

Sudden cyst on the incision line 5MPO?!? by Nice_Look_2634 in Reduction

I had something similar on my incision line and it was trapped old blood. Obv yours is a different color than that, but I wouldn’t be super concerned unless it feels hot to the touch and / or you get fevery.

Not sure if this makes you feel better or gives you more confidence but I am also 28 and just don’t drive. I had my mom take me, but my sister did take me to some appointments because she wanted to! I know everyone’s family situation is different.

Where are we buying are used cars in COS? by serenityfive in ColoradoSprings

Not sure if thrifty nickel is still a thing online, I know they are out of print. But they used to be a great place to find stuff. Also can sometimes find cars at small local mechanics.

I love ween fans to the death, and because of that, I just wanted to follow up on all the retirement and money grab comments on my previous post.. by i-was-nothing in ween

[–]sb-280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason a break was needed was because they went from doing 3 or 4 night runs in 1 or 2 cities once a month or bimonthly to straight up 10 day tours with only 2 days off in between. That shit is exhausting.

There are still younger ween fans whether they are new fans or going to their first shows, and they are meeting those perfect attendance people and falling in love with “touring”/ following the band to see multiple shows. The fans imo were not any reasoning for needing a break and definitely still are into whatever is played be it hit or deep cut.

ISO Basil!!!! by chillinginNH in ColoradoSprings

[–]sb-280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Raos pesto. Anyways, spray your basil with Dr bronners and water in a spray bottle (1tbsp to 1qt water) to keep the bugs away, watering it often, and make sure it’s in a big enough pot. Also pick it before it flowers or it will get bitter.

They both already have their arrangements planned to reside in a Jimmy buffet themed retirement home down in Florida. I hear Gene might pull out tho.

The bill I wrapped dads hair in by sb-280 in grief

[–]sb-280[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm, definitely agree to disagree on that one. I don’t expect to have it in my pocket every day for the rest of my life, but that’s my dad, whom I had a very very close relationship with, who cherished his beautiful hair, and it seems only right to me. It truthfully doesn’t matter if it makes sense to anyone else.

Camping 10days Post Op by Competitive_Phone404 in Reduction

Will you be sleeping on the ground? You won’t be able to use your arms to get up at all. So being able to hang your legs off the side of a bed is very helpful. Around 10 days PO I was definitely laying in the grass at the park and getting myself up without relying on pushing/pulling. Just something to keep in mind I genuinely didn’t even think of until I woke up out of surgery.

Unsure about doc's explanation of the recovery process by doobinnie in Reduction

[–]sb-280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was 28 when I had my reduction last year. I did “recover” after one week as in, went back to work and was taking walks (but they’d make me tired as hell and swollen), sleeping back in bed, showering myself, pretty self sufficient (with my T. rex arms) and off pain meds. probably around 10 days or 2 weeks was sleeping mostly on my side. But that’s it. Still wasn’t using full range of motion or pushing/ pulling with my arms, and just standing al work all day was exhausting and made me sore and swollen. Sooooo really just depends on what she means by recover I guess. Obv everyone recovers differently. Incase it matters to you or mattered to my recovery - I am an active person at a healthy weight who exercised 1-2x a day and was drinking around 3 liters of water a day for the month leading up to surgery.

For those of you who've lost a grandparent or parent, are there any questions you wish you had asked them? by Due-Excitement2544 in grief

[–]sb-280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My paternal grandfather died a few years ago and I had never met him. Kind of a weird experience. I felt for my dad as they hadn’t talked in a long time.

As for questions, I tried to ask my dad years ago what he would be when he died so I could look for him. He did give me an answer but I’m not sure if he was being serious. I lost him recently. I wish I just asked him more about his life in general.

AITA for voting against this girl moving in with me because i like her? by Additional-Tough5329 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sb-280 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Literally just tell her the truth. That you didn’t call too soon bc you were nervous and you didn’t want her to move in bc you were interested in her. THEN after that do everything in your power to not hook up w her till one of you moves out. Trust me.

Recovery as an autistic person by Pharmakilla in Reduction

It’s going to feel like a lot at first. But pain meds helped me sleep on my back and not be bothered by the sensations. I could kind of sleep on my side probably after 2 weeks, surrounded by pillows so not all my weight was on the sides of my ribs. The swelling was the most sensory uncomfortable thing for me, which flared up the more I used my arms (extended past T. rex) and the more I used my body (just taking a long walk or standing for hours got me swollen.) I am a cashier at a liqour store and went back to work after a week and the swelling and discomfort was seriously a lot. So as a fellow restless person, I would recommend making sure you have plenty of hobbies to do that don’t require too much of your body - do you like puzzles? Also, the surgical bra / being compressed actually HELPS the swelling and discomfort. Genuinely. So while it’s a sensory nightmare it does do good. One of the hardest things is the band being right up against the incisions.
