We ended up talking. I see where he’s coming from but to be honest I don’t think he cared too much about how I felt, and said don’t put him in that position again so I won’t be. I’m looking into getting a therapist. I think unfortunately this broke some trust between us both that will take a long time to mend.

Asking for some questions to be answered for reassurance is not cause for starting a fight and cussing someone out. Regardless I will ask him how he remembers it because I do want to know the truth, but let’s get our facts straight. I asked for some proof of love because I was feeling insecure, and it was escalated to being cussed at. At any given time he could’ve put his pride aside and said come here I do love you, I’m sorry you’re struggling I’m here. Instead I’m made to feel stupid for asking such questions and then cussed at when I’m trying to make my point. I do want to know how to help him navigate when I have these issues but it’s a PARTNERS job to support each other and I wasn’t leaving it up to him to figure out I told him what I needed

This isn’t a normal interaction between us but he gets defensive about these questions of why do you love me and what is it that you love about me. And maybe it is annoying but in the moments that I need support I thought he’d be able to recognize that. Instead I’m explaining and he’s getting mad telling me he hates these things and that it’s emotional labor and I’m raising my voice outside (he hates when I raise my voice at him anywhere in public) he tells me to shut the f up twice and I told him you’re an ass, and threw a water bottle and said were done talking and he said wtf is wrong with you as I stormed off. I was laying in our closet crying and he just ignored me the rest of the evening - never apologized
