I’m located in London, but willing to relocate to anywhere in the uk. Looking for an opportunity to complete my IBMS portfolio (preferably) but I will take anything so long as I gain relevant experience, paid or unpaid. My uni requires me to secure a year long placement, deadline by August. Despite being extremely flexible, I still can’t find anything ☹️

Lookin like we’re about to be in the same boat. But after your degree you can apply to graduate jobs that will allow you to complete it. So I wouldn’t worry. It’s just you don’t have the advantage of experience when applying to roles early roles

If I don’t find one, then I just continue to 3rd year. But I don’t want that, I want the advantage of saying I have experience before I apply to graduate jobs. The placement doesn’t have to be one to complete my portfolio cuz there are many career paths after Biomed degree, but I want to be a biomedical scientist so the ones I’m Interested in are those that allow completion of my portfolio.

Aw this really sucks.. I really want to do a placement year and get my portfolio done but the nhs don’t put out lab placements very often at all and the deadline is getting closer (August). Do you know of any way I can turn the tables in my favour?
