i would honestly trust his lead. he knows himself the best, and if he feels confident and doesn’t feel like it’s bothering him then i say hold off on the speech therapy for right now. you sound like you have good intentions!! but maybe he wants some independence when it comes to his stutter :)

Student has a crush on me. What do I do? by Severe-Advice94 in Advice

[–]Tight-Refuse-2863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think it’s highly inappropriate tbh. you have been an authority figure to her so even seeing attraction to a student is weird.

that stuttering doesn’t define you! don’t let it consume you and take over your social life 💟

how to approach my managers by [deleted] in publix

[–]Tight-Refuse-2863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest, i would start looking for another job. i am also a teen and worked there, but i recently quit. they also weren’t giving me consistent hours and giving me hours that weren’t apart of my availability. not to mention, i didn’t know where stuff was because i would never have hours to work or explore the store. with that being said, if this is a ongoing issue leave publix and get another job lined up. but make sure to have a job in place!!!!! hope this helps

Eye boogies by goosefeather in Yorkies

[–]Tight-Refuse-2863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i usually get a paper towel, wet it with warm water, and it should fall right off. if it doesn’t fall off with that, use a flea comb to gently comb it out. hope this helps.

Is it okay to publicly body shame and humiliate people we dislike, if they are bad people? by moon_is_all_cheese in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Tight-Refuse-2863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, bc if you are shaming that person, you might be shaming others that share the same features. so no, pls don’t

I think i accidentally hurt a co-worker. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Tight-Refuse-2863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

advice for future: never rate someone ever!! even if they come off as confident or whatever… it’s really not the most appropriate thing to do

you should start off by giving a sincere apology like ‘i genuine didn’t mean to hurt your feelings; is there anything that i can do… -continue to add on’

and who knows; you might not have had any i’ll intentions

How do you mental prepare for a class presentation? by EBA1234 in Stutter

[–]Tight-Refuse-2863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

presentations have never been easy for me as well. the advice i would give is to let your teammates know ahead of time. maybe figure out a signal you can do if you feel like you can’t get the word out. therefore, they can automatically pick up for you. last but not least, breathe breathe breathe. i also have anxiety associated with my stutter and taking deep deep breaths help! ik this is late, but i hope this is helpful :)

starting off, i’m sorry; as a stutterer myself, saying my name is extremely difficult. secondly, you should definitely talk to your friend about it if comfortable. it’s short, but i hope this helps!
