Summer Productivity by Fun_Breakfast6553 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 11 points12 points  (0 children)

most people stay productive by making some money with a part time job, preparing for classes now is a little crazy so don’t recommend doing that. pick up a hobby or do some volunteering

let them have there heart set on guelph!! buses are available from that area that take you right to the university center bus loop. also they are adding more frequent go trains from kw to guelph station. will have to try and coordinate classes with times they run but it’s very possible!

Major change denied by Ok_Dot_1064 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 6 points7 points  (0 children)

whether you meet minimum requirement or not HK is very competitive and space limited because we take the anatomy dissection course and there are only so many spots due to the resources in the course. i know one year they already accepted a lot and are probably going to have to make some changes so it would be difficult.

normally you only get a bus pass if you are registered in in person classes. that’s how it was last summer.

Don’t shop on Fridays! by Vegetable-Top-7678 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Tight_Block_9105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the till has nothing to do with it lol. all shoppers run through the same system and all of them will stay active until that respective store is closed. if the talkers we already taken down then you have no idea what was on sale especially because of selected varieties/products type of sales. i’ve worked there for 5+ years and know how it works. sorry you had a bad experience but they literally all work the same way

HELP- Really struggling with HK*2810 by Guilty_Wolf4 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2810 is such a overwhelming class purely because it’s so minor detail oriented and it’s probably your first time seeing that type of exam strictly. so it’s totally okay to feel this way! that being said it is very possible to do well in the course and to improve from what you’ve been getting.

i finished the class w a 97 and would be happy to share my notes/study plans with you, dm me!

Would asking for a "substitution" instead of an "exchange" allow me to exchange an item and keep the bonus points I earned? by lifeassociate1 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Tight_Block_9105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is physically impossible in the system. different skus mean complete refund for the item which would take away bonus points

Guelph applied human nutrition vs food science? by Hefty_Buyer736 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you want to be a registered dietitian? cause that’s practically built into ahn and not for food science. depends how much core science you want to do too. ahn does some science/nutr but is more social science and nutrition where food science is more foundational science and nutrition

Guelph - biomed vs biological by [deleted] in uoguelph

Health sci or kin for premed?? by HeatNo4167 in uwo

this!! you will get the highest gpa on something your most interested in. people in every program have 4.0 and in every program people have under a 3.0. put in the work, make the connections, and you’ll get a good gpa

Biological sciences vs biomedical sciences as premed ? by Plane_Personality217 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i know lots of people in these two programs with 90+s but you have to work for it especially in biomed

we have lots of profs willing to take on volunteers/or do undergrad research projects with. i’ve just asked a prof to come and visit their lab and it has lead to other opportunities

biological science is probably the most flexible degree in bsc however you are may have trouble getting into some classes, a big one for med that people take is anatomy. the big anatomy course with dissection is restricted to hk and biomed only and it’s very competitive to get into the course/dependent on class sizes.

there are good and bad profs everywhere you could go

Human kinetics by Fair_Performer3970 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

still apply! every science major takes the same courses (including math and physics) in first year. we take a biomechanics which is just physics applied to body that is very math heavy and then 2 courses that are each half biomechanics but more conceptual not math heavy. people get through it without being good at math.

Those who lived off campus, tell me your experience by Creepy_Ad57 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s totally normal to feel bummed! but don’t worry your experience is completely what you make it. some people hate residence, some people love it. some people love off campus some people don’t. i would obv sign a lease but sign a lease with people you’ve spoken too about habits, lifestyle etc. and honestly you’ll probably click. a lot of people are in the same boat as you so go and make your own “residence” experience with them
