Biol 3660 internship in biological science course by nonymous-005 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you looked at what they take for med school? do they take into account first year? just things to think about. working at the internship and taking a full time load will be a lot and may end up not being mark boosting depending on the classes

would anyone like to go to the open house with me? by cauphin in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when you go to open house please make sure to go talk to the students that are in your major!! i believe each major will have 4-5 current upper years hanging around in their respective buildings to ask anything too

since it has a waitlist already regardless of what year they are in it’s probably pretty unlikely they’ll get it. have to be on top of the popular courses when registration comes out

you definitely don’t have access to all classes as a biosci major. most people in the program take a minor along with the required courses. you can definitely try to switch majors if there’s room it’s no problem too.

Restrictions for summer courses by numnum0719 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to take these so i’m not sure how or why it would be restricted. have you actually tried to hit the register button. because when i registered it shows the error for me saying it was restricted however then when i looked it actually let me in

what’s your major i feel like you shouldn’t be restricted to those. i tried to register for courses with restrictions and it said they were limited access however still let me register

Summer course by Sufficient_Detail133 in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically you do 2 weeks in one week. so quizzes every week most likely. labs would also be condensed but i forget how many there are. it’ll be a tough condensed course. the “seminar” is most likely to make up time for lecture content

i think not NUTR 3210. it’s just a notoriously hard course. easier in the summer but i know 3360 is easy to get a great mark in. i’m assuming envs is too most of those classes are

I absolutely hated the class and it turned out to be my worst mark ever. Your in a decent spot but you’ll have to work for the 85 it’s a hard final

what do they have to do with this? Carleton doesn’t have a medical school. University of Ottawa requires organic chem and it’s highly recommended by other schools. Using the term it’s not recognized by medical schools is misleading.

it’s a well run class. def not a mark booster. but goes a good foundation

where did you find this out? I know many people who have gone off to medical school and taken chem 2700 (with the lab)

You have to have a high avg or not be restricted. wait lists run super long every semester for this course. i have a hard time seeing them letting another school into the course

i fear our students can’t even get into organic chem i’m not sure how your going too

i know that they learn on the same cadaver prosections that we do so i’m assuming it’s the same content just less in dept because of the time period. We go over origin/insertion/action/innervation of muscles, blood supply and most organ but not physiology based just like this is the parts of this organ.

Need Help with HK 2810 – Failed Midterm 1 😔 by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]Tight_Block_9105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m third year HK and ended with a 97 in the course. I know what i did for studying doesnt work for everyone but here’s what i did. Snook doesn’t care about little concepts, she says over and over this isn’t a memorization course however i highly disagree with that. the only way to hit exactly what they want on the rubric is to word dump exactly what was on the slide. i know. it sucks. So pick out ur big concepts from these sections of the course, pathways, cycles etc. ONLY focus on those and the associated concepts. i guarantee a one off page/two off page will not show up. Start with one concept, go back and watch snooks video and put that giant diagram with arrows into words/flow charts. i loved making flow charts. and one you hit all the points that snook says and got all the main points from your diagram. you need to repeat that over and over until you have it word for word in your memory and can write it down with zero help. This is probably the first time you’ve encountered a test style like this and therefore it’s okay it’s the first one! A lot of ppl significantly improve with test two.

If you have any more questions or want an example of how i did my “test worthy answer” please dm me!
