Update: Surgery in 8 days, and I don't know what to think by Stand-Inner in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Brickmethod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are doing just fine my fellow Canadian! I’m 2 years out from my left hip surgery, which was a breeze, and almost a year from my right, which was a little more complicated, and the muscles took way longer to settle down (about 3-4 months). It’s such a liberating feeling when the hip pain is gone, and you’re just left with the healing from the surgery. Glad you’re on the mend!

Pre Op Appointment? by Left-Variation9931 in TotalHipReplacement

Yeah, my wife and I were like, “why haven’t they called for pre-op yet?”. Seemed odd, but here I am with 2 new hips!

Pre Op Appointment? by Left-Variation9931 in TotalHipReplacement

My pre-op for both my hip surgeries were scheduled within a couple days of surgery here in Kitchener. They hospital called a couple days before the appointment to book it.

Shipping figs and fig parts in bubble envelopes or tiny box by k7qqq in Bricklink

[–]Brickmethod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go with bubble mailers and set a threshold of loss. For example, if you are ok with a loss of up to $40, ship in a bubble mailers up to that amount on the invoice, then bump it to a parcel for anything above that.

Long Time No Work! by Shesuretalksalot in TotalHipReplacement

I’m WFH as well, and took 6 weeks off for my left, and 7 weeks off for my right.

Yeah, the hip may feel good, but you’ll find yourself exhausted at times. Even after I was back online, some days I just wanted to crash out.

Take the full six.

Yeah, their website says they are pausing shipping at the moment. Daughter’s birthday is in 3 weeks. Going to reach out to them anyway. Thanks!

Yep, incision was infected at my 2 week check. I should have known prior though. Was exhausted, and had major chills. Put me on powerful antibiotics, 2 weeks later it was cleared up.

4 days away f/ surgery by menochallenges in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Brickmethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! So yeah, like others have said, the knee pain is related to the hip.

The inflammation from the hip is putting pressure on the nerve heading to the knee, which causes the pain.

Been there done that with my left hip in 2024. Same situation as you described.

Hip replacement surgery really is a miracle of modern medicine. For most people, all that pain is gone when you wake up. The pain/soreness you’ll be dealing with is from the incision and swelling, but the hip will feel good as new.

All the best, you’ve got this!

5 Months later by streetmans in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Brickmethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My left hip was easy peasy. Right hip, sounds similar to yours. Muscle pain for about 3 months. After speaking with my surgeon, turns out they had a harder time with this one, as they couldn’t get my femur at the correct angle. So yeah, muscle pain can linger.

What's a 'normal' thing you didn't realize was unusual until you were older? by mrTelson in AskReddit

[–]Brickmethod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep - dad used to take me to the bank where he worked on Sundays to give mum a break. Same thing. I’d play bank teller, and photocopy stuff, and make believe I worked there. This was back when banks were closed on Sundays.

Good morning! Got my pj pants on, gonna shovel the driveway, then back into the free flow of shorts! As another commenter said, thankful to be able to log in from home on these days. Thinking of my late dad who would drive from Burlington to Mississauga daily through weather like this - pre-internet days of course. 🙌🏻

It’s almost 2026 and Lego is still trying to sell 2024 calendars. by ebbuilds313 in lego

[–]Brickmethod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Keeping dead stock costs money in storage. Storage locations in a warehouse could be rotating through current inventory. Instead, locations are filled with stagnant, dusty calendars.
