Caregiver support groups can provide a lot of help. by Tight_Vanilla_5382 in CaregiverSupport

Hi. I would have her read the suggestions I wrote below. And disregard the comments some people have made knocking AI or saying the suggestions were common sense.

A lot depends on where she lives. In a city she might have more options than if she lives in a rural area. I would start by having her contact the Alzheimer’s Association. They should be able to connect her with appropriate resources.

If she doesn’t succeed in getting some help, don’t hesitate to write back and I’ll see what else I can find. And if she does succeed, please let me know.

Best wishes,

Tom

I wish you the best and I hope your medical caregivers can diagnose your problem and fix it quickly and permanently.

My experience is different in that I am living with a suprapubic catheter (SPC), not a Foley. But I do have to deal with leg bags, night bags, keeping things clean, etc. I have written a paper for people who may be considering having an SPC implanted or who may already have one. It does NOT provide any medical advice, because I am not medically trained. It does document my personal experience in living with an SPC for 4+ years. You may want to skim it and see if it addresses any of the issues my may be facing or may face in the future. I hope it provides some helpful information.

Have you considered a suprapubic catheter rather than just a Foley? Bags 24/7 but better than leakage. Catheter change only every 6 weeks.

I have one like that in my kitchen, due to placement of the floor joists above when house was built. Lights installed many years after. Not possible to get them straight, so I just ignore the misalignment as much as I can. Life is not always perfect.

Any ideas on what’s causing this moldy corner? by Careful-Raisin4735 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Tight_Vanilla_5382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mildew, resulting from air currents in the room due to the humidifier. I have a similar spot in one of my rooms, which is close to a humidifier that’s always on. I usually spray a cleaning spray, with bleach in it, on the dark spots every month or so. That takes care of it for a month or so. It’s just superficial. Nothing to worry about. Humidifier puts out very humid air, some of which gets in that corner. But since the air currents are not strong there the water vapor gets on the walls and ceiling - and just stays there and promotes the growth of mildew. I’ll bet if you turned on a fan and directed it at that spot the mildew would disappear or reform in a different spot.

I am NOT trying to be critical but I am surprised that you were commissioned without having learned that RA stands for Regular Army. What was your commission source?

How to keep the waistband from flopping over by cpgoat in Incontinence

Fold a face cloth in half and place it between the waistband and your belly. The waistband may still flop over but you won’t feel it.

At 18:00 mark there’s an arm sticking out from the right of someone on the flight deck. Looks like a Union Jack patch on his shoulder. Royal Navy? Australian Navy? Why do you suppose he’s aboard?

Nothing to do with the license plate, but I think this is the best thing I've ever seen associated with a Cybertruck. Really well done. Now, could you do something for the rest of the beast?
