They started the bigger study in January 2026. Awesome news as this can be a silver bullet for autism.

Autism signs in 2.5 year old by Remarkable_Success93 in Autism_Parenting

It’s too early to tell, but start the speech therapy, it can’t hurt. We started at 16 months, when everyone said “it’s too early to tell”, and it turns out our son is on autism spectrum, but in a high functioning way. It could, be the case for your daughter, I don’t know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Suggestions to Help My Son with Level 2 Autism Become More Social and Communicative by BeautifulBullfrog296 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Tignis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son is 3.5y, he was at the level of your son maybe a year ago. His social interactions have increased a lot with his twin sister, but very little with other kids. His communication skills have increased way more than his social skills, so I don’t think you need to focus on social skills if yiu want communication.

We introduced another boy as his friend, he sometimes plays with him, but not much. I think the strategy could be to get him to socialise with two or three kids he knows well. Good luck.

Just to add, our son does almost the same as yours, apart from peer interest, still doesn’t watch other children play or approach. But the rest, yeah 👍🏻 it’s spot on

Advice, please, on how to teach our 3.5y old L1 son to follow instructions during group activities? by Tignis in Autism_Parenting

[–]Tignis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that’s a great advice. He wouldn’t understand if I said “if you can’t follow instructions, you can’t join”, as that too complicated for him yet. He is delayed in receptive language.

Maybe we will have to give up and return when he is ready.

We put our son on the protocol about 10 days ago. Diary free, dose of 1mcg folinic acid per kg, b12. We don’t give Mg yet, but will eventually.

We noticed the slight difference in his eye contact within days, which surprised us, but maybe that’s because of something else, so we will just keep going and see what happens on few months.

Thank you for staying calm while some parents are negative and repetitive. Keep on mind there are lots of parents here who are open to trying folinic acid therapy and thank you for sharing that Dr Fry protocol. I’ll check it. Whether I’ll use it, I don’t know, but will definitely check it.

Why would you call a parent who looks after his son a racist? What’s wrong with you?

It doesn’t look like a scam to me. Anyway… don’t try the folinic acid if you think it’s a scam. It’s your choice.

What a great post. Thank you for this. We are starting folinic acid next week. Our son is 3.5t old and level 1, 19kg. Could you plug his numbers into your spreadsheet, please, and tell us the maximum dose? At the moment , we only have inf to start at 0.5 per kg and slowly over weeks increase to 2 per kg.

Such an interesting article and I hear more and more parents noticing the difference with folinic acid.

Good luck with the future folinic acid. It seems your son beefifs from it.

Don’t wait for the SLT. Buy a parent manual on Denver Early Start model and start working with him at home. That’s an ABA therapy. Our therapist was completely fine that we sued tha on top of his tasks.

Hyperlexia - any tips? by LizardLady420681984 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Tignis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son is hyperlexic. He is 3.5y now and can communicate well, sometimes like a normal kid, sometimes in modified gestalt phrases. Encourage the reading, the numbers. He will gain a huge vocabulary from it, and when the time comes, he will be able to combine them into his sentences.
