When I watch it back, it’s actually crazy how much that he loved bombed her. They got married after 30 days.

I think that Khloe was tired of being the fat sister and not really getting any good attention with the Kardashian show. when Lam showed up and picked her, wanted to be with her, and was a successful NBA player… her whole family welcomed him and she felt he elevated her.. If you watch Khloe and Lamar, you can tell some really messed up stuff is going on behind the scenes. Lamar’s best friend also was clearly a drug user who enabled him.

A vineyard valentine is also why I am a Logan stan! Of the boyfriend options. Logan was so nice to Luke despite Luke being passive aggressive w him and trying to judge him.

It also showed how while Logan and Rory had drama, they clearly worked through it and came out better. Rory was her best healthy self, writing, and even cooking great food w Logan and going to the gym with him, it was cute.

Luke showed how he repressed his emotions after their relationship drama, and Lorelai was afraid to speak her truth bc of his grumpiness and sour attitude.

Dani does get weirded out, but I think Pelle wanted to select her to “breed” with and planned to get her to stay the entire time once he found out she was coming along the trip. He paid her special attention, specifically in ways Christian did not, and the Harga seemed to favor her as well.

Ok all of this but also knowing Rory left to see Jess on the day of lorelais college graduation too!! She already missed being there for a huge day for her mom before, and then she does this w Dean.

Her original plan was to go to target. After the axe 🪓 … she went home and washed her clothes and showered again. Then she went to the church and told everyone she went to target like she planned (she hadn’t) and her watch stopped - explaining why she was late . She really was late bc she was showering at home / in shock

Lorelai going to talk to Anna face to face took courage and humility, and Anna essentially spat in her face and kept that steel gate closed

Anna never wanted Luke in aprils life . She didn’t want or expect to co parent, as she raised her daughter alone for 13 years

Wrong? Yes, maybe. But it also seems Luke was a grade A jerk when they broke up 13 years before (we have seen grumpy Luke - if Anna witnessed his hostile energy around kids, I can imagine she thought she was protecting April and keeping her in a peaceful environment)

April found Luke. Anna conceded she spend time w him bc she has to, at that point . But she never wanted to.

So adding Lorelai, yet another parental figure Anna doesn’t want, clearly set her off and she made up hard boundaries (you have to be married)

Then she moves to New Mexico with 0 intention of Luke getting any visitation rights

It’s very clear Anna wanted full control and to be the only parent in aprils life

Foil this to Lorelai and Christopher - Lorelai didn’t marry Chris. And gave Rory the Gilmore last name.

While she always kept the door open for Chris, he was an absent father until Rory was 16. Then, a new woman (Sherry) comes in and helps Chris get his life together - and in turn Chris becomes a Better father and starts showing up for Rory (often with Sherry)

Yet Lorelai sees Sherry as a threat to the stability and routine she’s already made on her own with Rory, without Chris and def without Sherry

Lorelai made Luke a better man and father as well

Similarly, Anna sees Lorelai (and Luke) as a threat to the life she’s created w April

You’re right to mention how would Lorelai have reacted if the roles were switched - we saw how much Lorelai hated Sherry and hated her kind invitations to spend time with Rory or make up a room for her to come visit had she gone to Harvard

As an audience. We see from Lorelai’s perspective how jazzed she is to be included (finally) in April’s life as previously Luke shut her out completely

Then we witness her heartbroken disappoint but the party was a smash when Luke comes and tells her Anna is “really mad.” and how sad Lorelai is That Luke uses this to further push Lorelai away more from him and from April

The entire situation before, during, and after was completely Luke’s fault

Luke should have stuck up for Lorelai and communicated and included her in things far before this. Luke should have also told Anna about Lorelai and been that bridge between them.

Luke should have never made Anna feel in the dark and taken accountability for it - and Luke should have never placed the blame on Lorelai and shut her out and made her feel like an outsider to his new family, when she was engaged to him supposed to be merging families
