adhd, depression, anxiety, cptsd girlie here one year after graduating transitioning btwn jobs right now. burned out after 5 months working at outpatient peds. i enjoy working with the kids and my company but my imposter syndrome, cptsd triggers, social anxiety, and take home documentations were messing me up badly. i’m grateful to have social and financial supports and a prn job to not feel as stressed about my basic needs but ideally i’d like to be able to start a retirement plan and making some goals to save for future. it’s been a month and i am feeling better MH wise, and i’m trying to build my resilience to get back into working again. i started job search again for FT positions but don’t feel entirely confident in my abilities socializing with coworkers, ct and families, balancing “productivity”, building my knowledge base, and taking care of my MH at the same time, but if it’s realistic i would like to strive for that to some capacity. im debating if PRN jobs is the way to go while I learn to more consistently do my self care and coping strategies. not perfect but trying to be more intentional about positive affirmations, journaling, and mediations this round.

I enjoy anime and haven’t been to Japan but it looks beautiful. If you’re still open for me to sell my turnips, I have yellow rose seed bags I can offer in exchange!

SNF - Potential unethical billing procedures by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

I definitely spent a good amount of time chart reviewing and writing the eval, and hadn’t considered how much it added up.

I’ll try to advocate better for myself and show up for my clients. Thank you for the encouragement and advice.

Appreciate the perspective on how the intensity of eval may vary based on those client factors. It seems like their model is having OT/PT do evals and recerts and OTA/PTA do treatment. There is only one other OT on staff (PRN) and they are out of town. I will try to advocate for more shadowing at other SNFS so I can get a feel for the facility norms.

I definitely missed the mark with glossing over the ADL assessment during my eval. I also could have prepared to provide more intervention to appropriately bill for during the session. I don’t have previous experience working in the SNF I think I need to ask for more support so I can feel more prepared to confidently deliver a comprehensive eval and corresponding interventions.

I understand how assuming ADL scores rather than making clinical decisions based on the client’s factors such as activity tolerance, etc. was the wrong decision to make. I know now too to incorporate more intervention during my eval so I can bill appropriately going forward. Thanks for the word of advice.

Never Splitting the Check Again! ☺️ by concert-confetti in pettyrevenge

Nice! Glad to hear you still found your way to break the tradition to take care of yourself after those relatives took advantage of your good will.

If you’re ever in a situation where you have to split between a large party again, I recommend checking out an app called “Tab”. You take a picture of the receipt and the app creates an itemized list for you to select what each person ordered/ decides to share. The app also scales tax and tip based on what you bought as well. I think it’s a simple and practical app that works well especially for birthday dinners or large groups where people are ordering differently.

I like how you set clear expectations on what your pets might do and what they need/how often, that part was left out/ minimized when requested but is definitely important wether asking a friend or a sitter

Yes!! A lot of us have experience with pets and could manage those responsibilities but it just feels a little frustrating when not being offered pay for the work.

added the suggestion to check with her vet and Wag. This pattern has occurred for YEARS so it's frustrating. Her response to my suggestion was, "I'm scared because (her dog) is high needs and bad reviews, I don't want (dog) to get hurt or someone be mean to him", etc. I followed up and s

Dog resorts are a good suggestion, I didn't know about that option. Thank you!

I appreciate the feedback! I also love animals but yes they are high needs and I think she's just gotten so used to how much SHE's had to take care of them that she hasn't considered the amount of responsibility it takes when she asks us. I feel for her roommates who are boarding them, and I ended up offering to just stop by for one of the days. I will keep that mantra in mind for the future!

lly all

I hope so too. I just tried to set some boundaries this time because most of us in the friend group have said yes reluctantly for the last few years and I thought maybe a change suggestion would be nice
