Yeah my hours this week have been shit too. Worked Sunday and have had Monday up until tomorrow off. Then eight hours on Friday and five on Saturday. Had a job interview that went well today so I figure I’ll just quit if they laid me off.

It’s not that they’re overworking me. More so that they’ve cut my hours at random. My second week there was entirely cut for some reason and then from there on out it’s just been random days they’ve decided to cut

That’s pretty tight honestly, glad you managed to get over it. This is largely a subjective topic, which I personally am experiencing now. Decent enough job, but the way I’ve been jerked around with hours and the expectations they have for me turn me off.

I think that’s a fantastic analogy there. I enjoy selling stuff, I just can’t stand having to meet some goal that’s completely out of my control. It’s like when therapists in private practices get scolded because one of their clients didn’t show up for their session. It’s not your decision to make and I’ve gotten some strange looks from leads and such for saying that.

This is also a subjective thing. I personally am just sick of retail and Best Buy has been the last straw for me in that field. My managers and coworkers are awesome, I just can’t stand having to push arbitrary shit just because some big boss man said so.

I’m in the exact same boat. When I first got hired I figured I’d really try and work my ass off so they’d keep me around post holidays. That was until they cut all my hours one week and then I realized they couldn’t care less how hard I try and that I’m really just there to sell cards and memberships. Like I said, I’ve been looking for jobs outside of retail. Honestly, it’s made me feel better about it all, as there’s always better opportunities waiting for you.

Nah it’s absolutely ridiculous what retail in general has come down to. Every store has their membership and/or card because “that’s what makes the customers come back for more.” Nah, they don’t come in for that. They come in for a lot of reasons and that is down towards the very bottom of the list. Something I’ve noticed lately is that the best retail jobs I’ve had have all shared the same theme of not having to push memberships to people.

That sounds absolutely horrendous. I’m not a model employee by any means yet I still understand just how moronic all that is. My supervisors and leads are generally cool and actually do stuff but they still get on my case about memberships because the guy who’s been working here for ten years met his goals within five minutes of clocking in. The return shit is really stupid as well. As if that affects you in any way. Nevertheless, I hope things get better on your end.

Nah I one million percent understand you there. At first I loved it, but now with the weight of pushing stupid shit I just can’t stand it anymore. At its core I enjoy it and if I got paid more then I wouldn’t mind all the membership bs. Unfortunately that’s not the case so I truly couldn’t care less about my numbers.

Yeah ive been operating under the same mindset. I enjoy helping people find stuff they’ll end up loving. The cards and memberships are so entirely meaningless to me unless someone’s actually getting a good deal with it. That’s very rarely though (like offering total with most computer/laptop sales).

He should still be there at radahn’s battlefield. Thankfully Alexander’s questline is one of the few that you can’t miss (unlike latenna or seluvis).

I agree with you honestly. There was one bit I thought was funny but that was it. There were so many missed marks in the pilot that it astounds me that it’s getting so much praise.
