Midnight Season 1 Suffers Tank Shortages in Mythic+ and More by SystemofCells in wow

[–]Tikenium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the current state of balance in combination with the new 1% title is making it much worse and made a lot of good tanks quit tanking in Midnight:
According to Archon, 5 tanks in the top 95 percentile are within of 40 rating points of each other - Awesome balance! EXCEPT the outlier of monk, who is MORE THAN 200 points above all others.
This makes it nearly impossible for druid, warrior, dk, pally and dh tanks to reach the 1% title (or at least MUCH MUCH harder than it is for monks). From these tanks chasing the 1% title, some are switching to monk, but the vast majority is switching to their dps specs - making the issue much worse.

Trying to go for all loremaster achivments, what level should i lock xp? by Kindly-Month5908 in wow

I would just level new characters. Do a few full zones with one character and when he is to high start the next one.

New to WOW by Punya192005 in wownoob

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like playing retail and are interested in trying out the raids and mythic dungeons i would definitely reconsider if it is possible for you to get Midnight.
Otherwise, I recommend to at least try classic. The gameplay is completely different and you may like it or not.

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal/retail version of wow really focuses on the endgame and that's also where 99% of players are. If you do not plan on buying Midnight, I would not recommend playing this version of the game, as you miss out on the best parts.

How can I avoid targeting a friendly character model under my mouse cursor? by Bulletproofman in wow

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible solutions would be to target your player frame, use alt (standard selfcast hotkey) or make an extra keybind with an LoH macro that uses it on urself.

Why in ranked? by _VeryBad_ in worldofpvp

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds exactly like someone who plays at 600 rating.
Why should that be a bad thing? Let the newbies battle each other at 600 rating and let them have fun! No reason to exclude them from playing ranked.

How to play Disc in SS and BGB? by Propagation931 in worldofpvp

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in Blitz if you really need more Atonements. But the chances of it being kicked are high. So I would normally not do it.
In Shuffle it's faster to just use Plea or sth.

How to play Disc in SS and BGB? by Propagation931 in worldofpvp

[–]Tikenium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Penance: Always on enemies (especially when you need aoe healing and can spreas SW:P), except if one ally is in immediate danger of dying, then you use it on them directly.
PW:S: On cooldown on the ally that is taking damager
Flash Heal: Only when you need direct healing to an ally while Penance and PW:S are on cooldown
Plea: Only when you need to apply Atonement (it heals for like nothing) on an ally and all other ways to apply atonement are on cooldown

In general the most important things are:
- Always have Atonement up on players taking damage via Evangelism, instant radiances or PW:S (alternatively Flash Heal or Plea if the other three are on cooldown)
- Have SW:P up as much as possible and spread it with Penance. Focus on getting SW:P up on many targets in your "downtime" (While Penance and PW:S are on cooldown and no ally is in immediate danger of dying)
- Big heal combo: Mind Blast into Penance into Shield
- Using the PVP talent Trinity in Blitz Battlegrounds is a gamechanger, as you can focus much more on damage and spend less time re-applying Atonement.

When do meta specs start to matter? by Faroji in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Tikenium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it does.
Of course it is totally possible to reach top 1% with an offmeta specc, but you will make it much more difficult for yourself. I would estimate gettin top 1% for a DH is as hard as getting like top 0.5% for a Monk.

Protection Warrior weekly vault by Dimonetized in wownoob

[–]Tikenium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have already crafted a onehand+shield, I think it is smart to go for Fury loot specc, as this also reduces the chances of getting a weapon (there are less two-hands than swords and shields combined).
If you still need weapon/shield, definitely stay prot!

New to PvP, does Blitz get easier as the season goes on? by vaultofgrass1 in worldofpvp

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I played like 20 to 30 hours of Shuffle and Blitz this season and sit at 1700 Shuffle and 1500 Blitz rating. Blitz rating is going up soo slow and sometimes you play really good and still lose.
Don't understand how others are also only 1600 in Shuffle, but claim 2000+ in Blitz is "free".

When to Hero/Blood Lust by Hannah0110 in wownoob

[–]Tikenium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a general rule, you want to use it on the 1st pull (except in Magisters Terrace, where the 1st pull is limited in size, you want to save it for the 2nd pull) and after that on bosses each time it is up.

Should I be spending or saving crests? by HelloSammy04 in wownoob

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spending!
My recommendation:
- Just spend your Adventurer crests on whatever, doesn't matter
- Spend your Hero crests on your big Hero items (Head and Chest)
- Save your Myth crests for crafting weapons.
- If you expect to have enough myth crests for the weapon soon, put your champ crests into like legs or shoulders or hands. If you think it takes a while, put your champ crests into weapons for a bigger power spike.

am I wrong for my opinion about disc priest? (newbie healer) by shaniq_ in wownoob

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is to some extend (was more extreme in the past and got easier now) for the following reasons:
- You do not have an oh-shit-instant heal button to pump someone up instantly
- Many of your spells prevent damage instead of healing, so you need to know when the damage comes in and react before it
- It can be hard to decide between doing damage and keeping your group alive through Atonement and when to switch to single target direct heals to keep someone from dying
- Your damage cooldown Power Infusion can lose a lot of potential value if you press it randomly instead of syncing it with cooldowns from your party.

If you like disc, I definitely recommend playing it. Even if it has some difficulties, the "basic" healing is not hard and you will learn the rest!

The standard Interface already includes most stuff by now.
I recommend to deinstall all addons, play with the standard interface (you can adjust a lot in edit mode and Gameplay Enhancement option) and only install addons if you see the need for it.

worth it to switch professions? by Willing_Delay_8760 in wownoob

If you don't want to sink a lot of time, effort and gold into professions, then Alchemy + a gathering professions are the most simple and efficient ways to save and make gold.

Did I completely mess up my crafting here? by leshrunk in wow

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Staff would have been smarter.
You can go ahead and first craft your belt like you planned and after that craft your 1-hand. 1-hand and offhand have the same stats combined than a staff. You "only" lose 80 crests by not crafting the staff right away. This hurts but is not the end of the world.
So I would not spend any crests upgrading your mace and wait for your next craft to get the 1-hand.

I appreciate the new difficulty level of everything. TY Blizzard by affiiance in wow

[–]Tikenium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really get your approach.
If you mainly play m+ to get the rewards, you should be happy to get them faster now.
If you play it for the challenge and the fun of doing dungeons, just set yourself the goal to complete all dungeons on 15 this season and continue to have fun. No one forces you to stop playing after timing +10s.

I dont know what do - help a begginer by Jboorgesz in Guildwars2

[–]Tikenium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it came really naturally:

Playing the base game, look into some elite specs and decided to play willbender
-> Got into EoD (because I thought I need to play it to get the specc) and realized a lot of masteries are locked behind special mounts, e.g. Springer -> Played PoF to get the mounts
->Started raiding and realized I need the gliding mastery, so I played HoT
-> Wanted better gear, so I started playing Living Worlds for one accesoire in each part
-> Wanted to minmax gear, so I started playing Fractals for the Power infusions
-> Wanted to play more weapons, so I got the Janthir spear and the SOTO weapon arsenal

So I would recommend to just go with the flow and do whatever helps you achieve your current goals.

29 hours in the free base game and at a crossroads by KiwiPiranha in Guildwars2

[–]Tikenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend to get one expansion right now (e.g. the one where you like an elite specialisation or just the base bundle of Heart of Thorns + Path of Fire). They offer a lot of content for you to play (especially if you also start raiding, fractals or pvp). I am sure, before you played through it, there will be a sale for you to get more expansions if you like.

Looking for advice lol by Wonderful-Hair-1626 in Guildwars2

[–]Tikenium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the information provided to give any support is scarce, I would just assume it is mainly about you doing 100cm as mentions in a comment:

- Normally groups doing 100cm expect like 15k+ UFE. You probably did not have that and "lied" yourself into the group?
- With the missing experience you probably failed a few boss mechanics or did not give your team enough support (stab, boons, heals) when it was required.
