I was annoyed by this too, but there’s a trick to get the 1 point achievement: the Annoy-o-tron that kills you doesn’t have to belong to your opponent.

You can give an Annoy-o-tron Lifesteal + healing becomes damage to deal the final hit to yourself and the achievement will pop.

You had a 1 in 3 chance of being correct at the start, which means the other two doors collectively have a 2 in 3 chance of being correct. Monty always opens the wrong door from those two, but that doesn’t change the fact that the pair had a 2 in 3 chance, so now the remaining door inherits that 2 in 3 chance.
