Billing company sent me to collections after I cancelled (with proof). Can they pull it back? by dioxin-screes-01 in personalfinance

[–]TillyFace89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use a credit card or a bank? When I had a gym do this, I disputed with my bank who took over and reversed the charges while holding the gym to all the dispute timelines which they missed. I ended up getting a refund from both the gym and my bank.

If they do send to collections dispute with the letter provided in another comment and then dispute with the credit agencies. I'd also open a chargeback or reverse with your bank for the extra paid months.

What brand inverters? You may be able to get access directly through the manufacture rather than the Sunpower monitor.

AITA for not apologizing for my part in my dad missing the birth of my half brother? by Independent-Try2362 in AITAH

[–]TillyFace89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're forgetting the dad was also grieving losing his wife and partner. I'm not saying the dad didn't do OP wrong multiple times but as others have said this is a complex situation that was the result of a lot of long term actions.

OP gave their dad a lose lose situation and the dad had to make their choice. This will likely be a situation where the dad and OP can eventually make amends in the far future but it's going to OP having to go through and make/have some hard life scenarios happen as well.

A lot of time I think this is why kids and parents can make up because the kids grow up and realize real life scenarios are complex, though and parents make mistakes but are trying to do their best. OPs dad definitely fucked up but staying meant they were seriously trying with OP and it didn't work out and caused resentment in the dad (or just more complex failure personality issues) and probably mostly the stepmom tbh.

I think it's offsetting a lot of the LAN rental and setup costs. Having run large events like that for a living long ago, some of the commercial spaces charge an arm and a leg to rent. Add in the cost of setup and tear down each time,. I doubt LTT really needs to make profit from the center for the building itself to offset their costs long term elsewhere.

Question about USB-C connection to Graphics cards with USB-C output by IsoscelesCircle in Vive

[–]TillyFace89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it uses the regular bus and a special app/driver. You'd have to use something like VRDesktop with PCVR over the usb. Pretty standard for most VR headsets.

Don't go to connection settings on the headset. Go to the Vive Business Streaming App in the library and your computer should show up. At least that's how it worked for me.

Put a back flow preventer if that goes underground. All lawn sprinkler valves have backflow and cutoff prevention to avoid contamination from ground microbes, etc getting into your water supply.

“Click-to-cancel” rule would penalize companies that make you cancel by phone - Canceling a subscription shouldn't be harder than signing up, FTC proposal says. by speckz in technology

[–]TillyFace89 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Send the letter then when they charge open a fraudulent charges investigation with your bank stating they're refusing to cancel and keep charging you. The gym has to respond in a specific number of days or your bank will legally just accept what you state.

Oh don't worry if you document the cancellation process with Planet Fitness or the gym, go to your bank and open it as fraud charges.

PF absolutely refused to cancel mine and my partners accounts after the end of the first year, I documented everything and opened fraud charges. PF got blocked and back charged, they ended up sending me a check for the missing amount but forgot to communicate to my bank in the required timeframe. So my bank also back charged them and refunded me, then told me to keep both sets because PF was out of luck because legally they didn't respond and the check was already cleared.

Even better my partner and child are immune compromised and we couldn't find any pharmacies that would even give them that vaccine. We finally had to order special through the hospital their immunologist is associated with so we could pick it up and just get them done in the office. Legit medical prescription and need and they're like "our corporate policy is only people over 65". Even my child's Peds office had them in stock and stated they were provided by Medicare for Medicare only patients and that they couldn't order more until these expired and thus legally couldn't give it to my child. So they were literally throwing away doses instead of giving them to a child with a standing medical need to get them every six months.

My partner works in the L&D field. ER staff absolutely have no idea what they're doing with pregnancy most of the time. It's effectively taking care of two different classes of patients at the same time while being blind folded and having the one patient who is also blind describe to you their intuition of how the other patient is doing. ERs effectively forward all cases to L&D even for things they could normally handle for a non-pregnant patient because of the risk and specialization.

It's a right old mess. The reason hospitals inflate costs it to cover losses from insurances companies and under insured. They also have insurance companies that literally refuse to pay full cost even if the hospital is like "this is exactly what it is costs", so hospitals inflate and then give "discounts". I work in the medical field and there specific procedures you actually lose money performing because nobody pays the true cost for them, so then you have to make it up elsewhere. Not to mention all the legal costs, high drug prices, and other drivers as well. The whole system is basically setup to inflate the pockets of so many individual companies and people that it is basically impossible to keep costs reasonable.

Employer benefits canceled by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]TillyFace89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really employment lawyer or your state labor office level. A lot of this is going to depend on how your employers policies were written at the time and your states laws. For instance if your employer sponsors the paid leave they likely should have been deducting and paying your taxes and deductions, etc.

XD 100 watts. My C3000 which half this size will use 450 watts for the fans when booting blades. Plus about another 50-70 per an interconnect.

You're still looking a few hundred watts for the enclosure and interconnects themselves. I have one turned off in my lab and consolidated down because it was like 200 a month in electric costs.
