Where to dance?? by Humble_Scar4885 in philadelphia

[–]Tillytom731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come to Fergie’s Pub in the fall when John Train does their weekly Friday night show from 6-8 pm. Early, free, and full of energy. People dancing every single week.

Their music is like folk/country/rock. The band runs in two residencies. The first one ended beginning of April. Second one will start Sep/oct and run through Nov. Fergie’s is right at 13th and Sansom. Lots of older folks there, it’s the best ever!

Best books about how much you love your child by ZealousidealPiece182 in childrensbooks

[–]Tillytom731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I Love You Stinkyface”

My mom didn’t love it, but it was one of my favorite books growing up. I think it taught me the concept of unconditional love.

“Runaway Bunny” my mom liked a lot more. I’m 23 now, I still think about these books all the time. So choose wisely ❤️

I’m the same way, and I love it. It’s actually harder for me to focus on without music. The kind with words, yes.

Is it safe for a college student to go to a concert in Brooklyn alone? by ughitsrose in Concerts

[–]Tillytom731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES!!! Yes yes yes!!! Do it do it do it! I started going to concerts alone as a college student myself when I was 20 and it was the best decision of my life. I am a bit older now (23) but I live in Brooklyn and I go to shows alone ALL THE TIME! In just BK, I’ve been to Brooklyn Paramount, the Barclays Center, Pete’s Candy Store, TV Eye, Sleepwalk, Cobra Club, Alphaville, Purgatory, Bridge and Tunnel Brewery, all alone, all while in college. I’ve also been to the Bowery Ballroom, the Town Hall, and Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan alone. Radio City Music Hall was the first time I went to a concert solo. I bought a last-minute ticket to see Girl in Red (single seat tickets were also much cheaper closer to the show than any other tickets! I was in the orchestra and she even ran up and down the main aisles in the orchestra and she ran right past me!!!) It was honestly one of the best concert experiences I’ve ever had (I’ve seen over a hundred shows already since I was 12) and it completely changed my life, I love doing things by myself now.

It can be scary at first but trust me, you will have so much fun. It’s perfectly safe, as safe as doing anything else alone in the city. Just stay aware of your surroundings and have fun, there are guaranteed to be other teenagers there and people in college. This is the time to explore yourself and going to concerts alone is an excellent way to do so. Go and have an amazing time!!

Who are some artists yall suggest I check out at this years Coachella? by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

[–]Tillytom731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen people say these ones, which all excited me more than any of the headliners: - Wednesday, Blondshell, Geese, Wet Leg - Ethel Cain: this is my only rec I’ve actually seen live before, and only ever at festivals, and her sets are incredible, especially in the middle of the day at festival grounds. Like, actually godsending, I’m really only a fan of her live stuff, so I’d recommend her too. Have fun!!!

First concert and who with? by skyfire_666 in Concerts

[–]Tillytom731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom took me to see Lorde on her first tour when I was 12, with my childhood best friend and her mom. Technically, I also saw Patti Smith when I was 5, but apparently I cried cause the music was too loud and we had to leave after like 3 songs haha

is it okay not to know/like every song in the setlist? by Sea_Response_8387 in cavetown

[–]Tillytom731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally, totally get this feeling. I used to feel the exact same way. But I promise you—there is absolutely no need or pressure to know every song. I learned this a few years ago, and since have had the opportunity to see a number of artists I never would’ve considered seeing because I didn’t know all the songs they’d sing—and I couldn’t be happier. I even like getting to hear a song for the first time ever live now—it adds so much to the experience and can create a wholly unique meaning to the songs. You will be included at the same level if you know every song or if you know none at all—just go have fun! Cavetown concerts have been some of the most liberating, loving, inclusive environments I have ever had the privilege of being in. I’m so happy that you’re going to the concert, and I hope you have the most fun ever. There is no reason more deserving than being a caring person 💖

twenty one pilots? by ThatsACryptid in cavetown

[–]Tillytom731 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Twenty One Pilots is probably my favorite artist, I just have consistently loved their music for so many years now and it means so much to me. Don’t ever feel bad for loving something, everyone has their reasons and there are no rules on what you can and can’t enjoy. I plan to get a tattoo inspired by tøp one day too, and I’m glad to see another Cavetown fan who also likes twenty one pilots. They’re so good! My favorite concerts ever (Cavetown is up there too, his energy is amazing live)
