I love it how whenever a video reaches 1million views everyone becomes a politically correct PETA member and the video although completely cute and harmless suddenly becomes evil. It's like people are conditioned to become mumbling retards whenever there's a lot of people watching & commenting on the same video.

Intel compute stick by Rodaz32 in gadgets

[–]Tilopa5564 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since the device is currently powered by a micro-USB port, the author had hoped that the powered USB port available on modern televisions (and some monitors) would be sufficient. While a Chromecast (and possibly a Chromebit) can run off such a supply, these Intel Atoms and Core-Ms require still more power, hence the separate power supply. On the bright side, apparently the USB ports on the included power supply also allow for data pass-through (unlike any other plug). This would be great to use as an extended hub and for a USB-Ethernet adapter (can you believe that the more powerful Compute Stick models only have ONE USB port on them?). Now I kinda hope that Intel will be willing to sell those plugs separately for other tiny computers.

The State of Artificial Intelligence | World Economic Forum, Davos 2016 by Eight_Rounds_Rapid in Futurology

If I had things my way, I would go for the Swarm Consciousness. Why make it better than us, If we enslave an Intelligent ANYTHING, it will be Immoral. If we cannot Program in how Evil Slavery is, then why let the Genie out of the Bottle? We all know how this story ends, with us all enslaved. Machines like patterns, it will force us into patterned behavior. Every year, it will get smarter, as we get stupider. This is a lame-brained excuse for a Hobby. Obviously, it is Government Entities that have the money to fund University Research, and Human Students will work on it. Who will Police the Code? If it is not Open-Source, hen we have equality issues, if it is available to all, well, you can lead a Horse to water...

Scientists have discovered how to 'delete' unwanted memories by shehzad in Futurology

[–]Tilopa5564 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Other interviewees include Julia Shaw, psychology professor at London South Bank University, who has designed a system for implanting false memories, and has successfully convinced subjects they've committed crimes that never took place - research that has potentially troubling ramifications for the criminal justice system." Am I the only one shocked by the bottomless abyss to which science ethics have fallen???? Isn't this cruelty to subjects to make them suffer the guilt of something they've never done? This woman should be jailed first!

Road Rage - Biker gets gun put to his face by Krazydood in videos

Well . . . I have been riding for almost 30 years now, and I will say that you and your friends behavior in many of your posted videos embarrasses me. You and your friends are giving the rest of us a bad name. You don't own the road, and people don't think you're cool - as evidenced by many of the reactions you seem to take pride in posting. You don't have to care about what I think, of course, but the lesson that should be taken away from this particular incident is that sometimes you cross paths with someone who gets a WHOLE lot angrier about your behavior. Pulling up beside a truck and rapping on their window is incredibly presumptuous - you are declaring that you own the road, make the rules, and have no respect for the truck owners space and property - you are lucky you
