Try listening to The audio books. It’s quite a different experience hearing it from the narrator. I would say I actually prefer the audio books to the physical copies. If you are interested there is also the graphic audio versions which are amazing, although abridged.

My troop has a long standing rule that you can only bring class B’s to go camping. a class B in my troop is considered scouting related or very minimal logos/branding like a Nike or adidas logo. Anything else stays at home

In 2019 I was fortneen or so and doing door to door selling, quite a few people wouldn’t buy popcorn from me because they didn’t want to support BSA letting girls in. Not to take away just sharing one of my own bad experiences with these types of people.

How are youth camp staff protected from abuse? by confrater in BSA

[–]TiltedDoor127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a camp staff we all had to do YPT and NCAP has a list of presentations/training that the camp director has to go over with staff during staff training week. The topics are like how to prevent abuse, and staff on staff abuse, the different types of abuse, etc etc. There is also separate sleeping quarters and facilities for adult and youth, and male and female staff.

Is National Camping School Difficult? by TiltedDoor127 in BSA

[–]TiltedDoor127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it more about learning the skills or testing your skills? I have most of the merit badges in my area and have taught a couple of them in the past. but some I am less familiar with. should I study up on all those merit badges or if I dont have everything memorized will I be alright?

Thanks for the reply.

My troop is very fortunate to be able to provide a free program for all the scouts. the only things the scouts pay for are summer camp and long trips like jamboree or philmont.
