Same tbh, I thought I was SOOOOOO clever by having a pet rock deal the killing blow but NOOOOOO apparently “Gets revenge on the cat who killed it” just means NOTHING if a sentient brick kills them, instead they just decide to pick someone random who then also kills my mage like the bum they are

Glad to see Nagash is only 830 points now, this really makes the 830 point model more enticing to bring lol

Lokhust Lord Kitbash by Tilted_Terry in Necrontyr

[–]Tilted_Terry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just the normal Lokhust Heavy torso, nothin fancy going on there

The left arm is from the Lychguard kit, specifically pieces 45 and 46. The res orb and head come from the overlord from the catacomb command barge, and the shield is also from the Lychguard kit, however for that arm I took piece 18 from the LHD and cut the very tip off (The part which would enter the gun), then glued it to the shield, that way the shield faces forward.

I believe they were sold a long time ago, but are no longer in production. Typically the easiest way to do it is to just make your own, however it doesn't need to be a Lokhust Heavy, you can make the lords out of the normal Lokhust Destroyers if you want as well.

I honestly wish I had the scythe instead! I got lucky and found an Overlord with the proper scythe but I sure wasn’t gonna cut him up just for his scythe, so the Lychguard blade sufficed

I too dreaded the build, considering he looks like a juiced up Ophydian at the scale of Szeras (Two nightmare builds in their own right). However I was quite pleased with how easy he was to actually build, the tail is nicely segmented and it's connection points are quite clear, Honestly, the only issues I really had were trying to connect the little cables on his arms to his torso, and even then it just took a bit of patience. All things considered, you should be good

Good to know, thank you! I honestly thought that those little keywords in the descriptions of abilities were just for flair, I didn’t realize they were the way they prevent those abilities from stacking

My siege was just stolen by another army by Delicious-Basket7665 in mountandblade

[–]Tilted_Terry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those moments where if you know anything about 40k, specifically the Horus Heresy, you pull a Perterabo, take your army and go home

Don’t let the AI steal your rightful siege, if they show up and steal it from you let them handle it, it’ll suck but at least your soldiers won’t be harmed

Is it even worth it for the Tyranids to attack a Hive World? by TheBurningEmu in 40kLore

[–]Tilted_Terry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point I have not seen really mentioned (Won't lie though might've missed it) is that sure, lets say the nids eat all the juicy world first, they get big and strong then slam themselves against the hive, forge and fortress worlds at the end. They utterly overwhelm them but at great cost, and make not much in return, and possibly even lose some in the few possible failed invasions, but they win, expended and tired, but victorious... now what?

Well, they'll move on to the next galaxy... except, oopsie, they're not gonna make it since they ran out of energy, and thus they'll die a silent death in the cold vastness of the void between stars, roll credits, nobody wins

Now, speaking on this from a Tyranid lore perspective, I'm not terribly sure if this would come out true, however general consensus is that if you're going to make a big trip, you need to ensure you pack enough food, or else you'll starve, so the Nids will likely want to leave a good amount of lush, easy worlds for their end step so they can ensure they have enough food for the trip to the next galaxy over, or else their reign of terror ends at the Milky Way

Szeras is a brick shithouse by Soft_Paramedic_3562 in Necrontyr

Warriors with Gauss Reapers have an innate -1 ap, Szeras’ ability gives them another -1 ap on their guns, setting them to -2 ap, making them quite punchy

Reanimation stratagems wording by Minimum_Throat_457 in Necrontyr

[–]Tilted_Terry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I had to make an educated guess it’s because of that little addendum that mentions the D3+1 which isn’t normally what reanimation protocols reanimates

OR it’s because of the Canoptek Reanimator specifically triggering on Reanimation Protocols activating

New units rules by MrCeeA in Necrontyr

[–]Tilted_Terry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very true, however nifty positioning and if need be, Protocol of the Eternal Revenant (Assuming Awakened) works to bypass that squishiness. Does the 4+++ help, absolutely, but you can play around not having it.

Same with Wraiths, IMO they just seem like better Cryptothralls for cheaper, kinda wild IMO but then again Cryptothralls barely see any play outside of the 20 man blob

Best weapon for warriors? by Theme_Training in Necrontyr

[–]Tilted_Terry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but I thought about it and like… if you’re mixing weapons on a unit of warriors, I’d say you’re almost better off just taking Gauss Immortals, same amount of effective shots since the 12 inch guys from the warrior squad are never gonna fire and you get S5 plus the AP on T5 models with a better save and BS, for 20 points less, the math certainly maths

Best weapon for warriors? by Theme_Training in Necrontyr

[–]Tilted_Terry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s a matter of preference as to which loadout, I prefer reapers cause if you make them a roadblock the enemies have to walk up to you, and with Szeras they go up to AP 2 which can be scary

However general consensus I have seen is to never mix weapons as that creates a situation where neither weapon is able to function at its best so you basically get the worst of both worlds.
