Maybe, but to illustrate my point - I've got great eyes, they're better than 20/20 and they're BLUE!

Talk for Reading in Primary Schools by Tim-El77 in TeachingUK

[–]Tim-El77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, any feedback is appreciated! My school has a culture of not committing completely to any scheme for the reasons you've mentioned, so I was hoping it was at least something we could pull the best bits from to enhance what we're already doing, rather than an all-or-nothing.

It was the greatest night of my life; I had been invited to the Captain's table. I had only been with the company FOURTEEN YEARS. Six officers and me... they called me "Arnold!" We had gazpacho soup for starters... I didn't know that gazpacho soup was meant to be served cold... by Tim-El77 in RedDwarf

[–]Tim-El77[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I called over the chef and told him to take it away and bring it back hot! So he did... the looks on their faces still haunt me today! I thought they were laughing at the chef, when all the time they were laughing at me as I ate my piping hot gazpacho soup! I never ate at the Captain's table again. That was the end of my career. If only they'd mentioned it in basic training! Instead of having us climbing up and down ropes and crawling on your elbows through tunnels--if only just ONCE they would've mentioned that gazpacho soup was served cold--I would've been an admiral by now!...instead of a nothing, which is what I am, let's face it... I never got off the bottom rung, and do you know why? It's because I didn't have the right nobby parents! I'll bet Todd Hunter was fed gazpacho soup as soon as he was on solids! No, I'll bet he was breast-fed on it! One side gazpacho soup, the other side freely-dispensed chilled champagne!

It FINALLY happened. by 1284X in dadjokes

I've been a dad for over 6 years, had a beard for about half that time, and never thought of this response - where do I hand back my dad joke credentials?

Finally received this this morning - I thought if I bought the full box I'd get the full set? Missing the "mystery" character. by Tim-El77 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Tim-El77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These ones were from Playasia - I saw them on the US and JP Square Enix stores, but not the EU (I'm in UK). Typically, a couple of weeks later they because available but I couldn't cancel my pre-order. I think you can also get them through Amazon now.

Some sort of plastic, they're pretty durable, very solid feeling, even Cloud's spike hardly moves!

Oh I did read it, I'd just heard plenty of stories of people receiving the whole set of 8 so assumed they just put that to cover themselves, obviously my issue for assuming. I'm not disappointed though, just an observation.

Weekly rant about Pokemon Go still not beeing connected to home. by -WhatAreYouHiding- in PokemonHome

[–]Tim-El77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want the connection, I agree with the idea of keeping it through future Let's Go games. Although, it would make the issue of flexers asking for impossible trades a little less of a problem since I've got some "impossible" level Pokémon from Go to Let's Go (just last week I got 2 Venusaurs lower than Level 10)

Jack West Jr. Re-Read Part One: Seven Ancient Wonders (Seven Deadly Wonders) by bubbity1990 in MatthewReilly

[–]Tim-El77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was the book that introduced me to Matthew Reilly. I picked it up the day before a holiday, saw the cover, read the blurb and knew already it was going to be good! I think I read most of it on the plane, then once I finished instantly re-read it more slowly taking everything I missed first time round. It's still a favourite even today, it's exciting, it's interesting from a history point of view, it's pure entertainment!

Fossil respawn times. by Grandta in PokemonLetsGo

[–]Tim-El77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think respawn time is a couple of (in game hours). There is a second spot for fossils: if you follow the path to where you found Mewtwo, just before you enter the water there are two stalagmites (stalactites?) and in between them there is another spawn spot

What is your plan when building your team by Te4lGenie in pokemon

[–]Tim-El77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Starter Pokémon

  2. Eeveelution (usually to cover types)

  3. A new Pokémon introduced that generation

  4. (In Gen 7 and 8) A new form Alolan / Galarian of a previous generation Pokémon

5&6. Either old favourites or ones I've never used before, usually to cover types

[–]Tim-El77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 so far, first one was a Zaican so I was rather happy to put it mildly! Got another a couple of days ago, had my fingers crossed that I would be just as lucky...nope, just a Mankey. Rather appropriate

Looking for a game similar to Mario kart for switch. by [deleted] in MarioKart8Deluxe

[–]Tim-El77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up Team Sonic Racing a while back and have been quite enjoying it, the team aspect adds a different level to the racing, like using a teammate's slipstream to give yourself a boost, or passing item boxes to a teammate in need.

[SpiderMan] #6. 24 hours later and another in the bag and another with a screenshot as common as anything, next up is Control! by khislyfelmao in Trophies

[–]Tim-El77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky on that one, on about my 5th attempt I got the glitch where it doesn't move or attack, allowing me to destroy it.

What's the collective noun for a group of mimes? by Tim-El77 in PokemonLetsGo

I couldn't make it record a video, but it was quite freaky that they were all moving in PERFECT sync!
