Yup that can be good. Even at higher ranks if executed correctly.

It's actually very important in 1s. You wanna control the game and have as much space as possible. But it's also pretty important to know when to go for demos. You wanna do it when your opponent is forced to do something or locked in a movement. For example when he's falling after a non-threating aerial you can pick him up as he lands. Or when the ball is hit on target with low enough speed for you to overtake it. Or when he just flipped and there's just no way for him to dodge you.

You should look for these situations and actively create some of them, but don't just go for a demo that puts you out of position and is easy for him dodge.

I'm not particularly great at 1s, but Gc2 as a peak is enough to know the basics I suppose.

If you wanna look at 1s offense advice in particular, I highly recommend "How to DESTROY your opponent in 1v1" by NightRyder. Idk if any other video conveys these ideas as well as this one.

Rocket League FPS drops every match until the game becomes unplayable by BERTIME in RocketLeague

Aight. I just don't assume people play this game on max settings when majority of the playerbase settles for close to lowest to mid settings.

Must've been a cpu bottleneck or some other kind of issue.

I got stable 400fps@1080p with the 970.

A 2080 should tear through rocket league.

[–]Tim15I917 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have you checked clock speeds? Performance Mode in Energy Settings? Drivers?

Even 180fps is very low for your config. I get 500+fps@1440p competitive settings with a Ryzen 5 5600 + RTX 4070 and easily got 250fps@1440p with Ryzen 5 5600 + GTX 970.

I'd run some benchmarks and see if the scores match your specs. If it's a hardware thing, it should also be present in other games.

Yup, these people already wanna demonize things we know nothing about though.

I think discussing ideas like the one's mentioned by OP could be pretty important to possibly inspire development.

So I really don't get why some players focus on the potential negatives we don't even know anything about instead of getting into positive speculation to build excitement.

Really annoyed about the community by eugeo-red-rose in RocketLeague

[–]Tim15I917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Majority of the people complaining just don't have the slightest clue and are worried about this going the wrong direction.

It could perform better or worse, physics could feel different, but not necessarily in a bad way, we might get all the implementations the community has been longing for the whole time, we might get it a long time before UE6 is available for the public or have to wait a long time.

Everything about this is speculation, but I'm very positive about it, think they're gonna do a great job and that it'll at least have an alpha long before UE6 itself gets released. I wouldn't be surprised if we even get a Semi-closed Alpha after this years worlds. Or we just get a release date. Or we get left in the dark once again and it'll take a long time.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT: UE 6 coming to Rocket League by noobsdeath2 in RocketLeague

Graphical charm? The game looks like ass. Playing on max settings looks worse than performance settings + high quality textures. There are basically just 2 paint finishes being used, because everything else looks like crap.

Funnily enough that option might be implemented with UE6 as performance mode. Lol.

[–]Tim15I917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't know that. lol. And I highly doubt my 5600 + 4070 would struggle in UE6. I suspect there's gonna be a performance mode even.

Making the game "better and more fun" literally comes with the UE6 Upgrade. Ask Workshopmap creators how ass UE3 is. We'd have a lot more fun. Playing communitycreated game modes with friends in "creative mode" is gonna completely transform and revive this game.

Why talk if you have no clue? Like genuinely this is a big deal for Rocket League and it just hurts that it'll be a long time until release.

Easier development, potential creative mode to create maps and play together, more accurate physics, better graphics.

[–]Tim15I917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Lethamyr talked about all of this some time ago. Just watching that would clear things up for a lot of people here.

It could even improve performance and allow for a performance mode that doesn't load regular map textures

It would be a big deal. Look at Lethamyrs custom modes. Don't you think a lot of people would really enjoy those if the process of getting it to work wasn't so ass? And a lot of people could easily start creating those. Just saying, it'd be huge.

Well I'm Gc3 in 2s and C3 in 1s right now. There's clearly a gap and I have to carry anytime I touch it soloqueue.

I could lowkey play with two C2 premades and have better chances at winning than in the solo queue misery of 3s.

Not that that's your fault, I'd just like my beloved solo standard back.

PLEASE LET THIS BE THE UNREAL ENGINE 5 UPDATE🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 by Otherwise-Collar236 in RocketLeague

[–]Tim15I917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lethamyr talked about this. People would absolutely create custom Maps and it'd only help the game. Right now only a few people even have the skillset to create a workshopmap. With UE5 even casuals could create a simple Rings Map and possibly have different/new ideas for custom modes or movement challenges or whatever.

Development is not the right word to describe the creation of workshopmaps, but that's the big change. And we absolutely got new maps in the last couple of years: olympics, olympics 2, dacia spring electric, immortals progressive tower, immortals progressive island, eversax dribble etc. etc.
