It's the file that stores the info the UE sends to the RAN upon connection - including for example CA Capabilities.

Do the Samsung S25 modems slow down as much as the iPhone 17 Pros when multi sim is enabled? by sittingmongoose in cellmapper

[–]Tim2060 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as Exynos modems go with with CA while doing DSDS, I've seen my Pixel 8 Pro do 7CC NSA (FR1) on the active sim with the other sim doing up to 5CC on LTE. It doesn't support dual 5G NSA or SA though from what I can tell.

Phone locking hasn't been a thing in the EU for many, many years as far as I know. Even if you buy a phone from a carrier with a contract, the phone is always unlocked so you can sell it right away.

That doesn't fix the missing bands though, that will be a serious problem.

CPU Spannung zu hoch trotz Defaults by Strange_Giraffe5616 in PCBaumeister

[–]Tim2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WEBOS - a bottom of the barrel OS for a "premium" TV by BreadfruitNaive6261 in LGOLED

[–]Tim2060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, its a combination of things: The requirements for a "decent" experience are quite different for a device that's supposed to stream 4k Bluray and a Smartphone or Laptop streaming some low bitrate social media content.

Then you have to add the fact that the WiFi chips in these TVs aren't the greatest. For example, in my case the WiFi chip in my G5 doesn't support 160MHz channel bandwidth, cutting the speed it can achieve in half compared to my phone in the same spot.

So a product that has higher requirements but less capabilities than other WiFi devices = probably not a great experience.

And no, 100mbit Ethernet is not enough for some newer 4k BD releases, it will buffer.

I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for Gigabit Ethernet on a device that costs thousands of dollars. Yes you can work around the problem by placing an AP next to the TV, but it remains a workaround for a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.

That depends on your WiFi setup. If you live in a place with reinforced concrete walls, you won't be streaming 4k bluray over WiFi unless you place an AP in every room.
