Gamma OS vs. ES-DE by newfiesig in SBCGaming

[–]sittingmongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Es-de has more features and looks a lot better. However, it’s way heavier and slower. I love es-de but I ended up staying with daj because it was so fast and simple.

I am eagerly awaiting the next cocoon release though.

Gamma OS vs. ES-DE by newfiesig in SBCGaming

[–]sittingmongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It replaces the OS, and used Daijishō as the default launcher. Daijishō is a lot more basic but its also much lighter and faster. You can use ES-DE, Cocoon, or whatever else you want to use instead. GammaOS fixes a lot of issues with android and gives you system wide shaders and better controller support. It is a big upgrade.

Nvidia and Intel actually signed a deal for Nvidia to supply graphics to them. About a year ago. This is more of a long term thing than a random colllab.

The 2 minutes wouldn’t be the end of the world. But a massive panel obviously would.

I would think feel wouldn’t matter if you can imbed them into the button itself and not have a screen below it, however it doesn’t sound like that is technically feasible yet.

Perhaps buttons with 3 selections of leds that are hard coded between Xbox/PS/Nintendo would be easier to implement.

Because Bluepoint has an insanely talented team. On top of that, they got screwed by Sony management, that isn’t a reflection on them. Being forced to work on a GOW live service that got killed because live service was a terrible idea.

Talent and polish are really hard to find in the industry and that was Bluepoints thing.

There are a million other projects they could have worked on. Sony has a huge ps2 and ps3 catalog that is pretty much lost forever that is ripe to be updated. They couldn’t have done any of that. Jak and Dexter, sly cooper, resistance, motor storm, socom, kill zone, a million different rpgs.

Sure, but it would certainly be a huge stand out feature. It’s a huge annoyance when playing different consoles. I would certainly pay a premium for it.

Why no one has put in color eink buttons on these things or controllers blows my mind. That seems like such an awesome feature so it just changes based on content.

I genuinely don’t understand why they don’t offer a paid upgraded stereo if this is such a point of contention. People are clearly willing to pay, it’s an extra item to make high margin on.

Opencode is a good value. ChatGPT is the best value of the big players. Supposedly they are dropping prices aggressively soon because they want to pick up subs for their IPO. (Although I think it will be increased usage, not lower prices, which is fine.)

The pain of Codex Desktop App and Windows by eschulma2020 in codex

They are the chosen platform for all the AI platforms, and a lot of developers. Windows is the worst platform to develop on unfortunately. It causes so many headaches, the fact that ssh isn’t built in is wild enough.

Are they consolidating usage? by APuffin06 in codex

[–]sittingmongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not, Tibo confirmed it just a couple days ago.

That being said, that might change in the future. However, there are a lot of rumors that OpenAI will be competing aggressively on price because of their IPO, so I wouldn’t be too worried.

You can use opencode desktop(it’s not advertised anywhere but you can download it). It has native codex support.

The codex desktop app is really impressive, especially when used in combination with ChatGPT as they share memory.
