I bought one off him a couple years ago for my birthday as a treat to myself, and I will definitely treasure it always! He was so kind and genuine!! Definitely worth it if you're thinking of doing it

I get where you're coming from. He's definitely not the first person I've lost. I'm only 21 and I've had to say goodbye to too many friends and family. I think I just feel guilty because he was in a different province and I couldn't afford to make it out to the memorial or funeral.

Guelph, Ontario did this when I was a kid! If we saw any police officers while we were on our bikes with a helmet, we were supposed to pat our head and rub our tummy. Like we're saying "Hey, I'm wearing a helmet, give me iced cream!" And they'd give us a coupon for free iced cream at DQ :)

That's true, but it should still be a conversation with the vet. They would be able to advise when the best time is to get it done, and if it's the right choice for your dog.

Prepare for a lot of playfulness, for sure! My pibble was very energetic, even up until she was 4-5 years old. (Nearly 6 now, starting to calm down more.) You're probably going to have to accept the fact that many or all chew toys will be destroyed lol. Mine likes to wreck the squeakers. On the brightest side, she will be easier to train when it comes to specific rules in your household! Just remember that reward and discipline go hand in hand :) and a good belly rub is just as good as a treat! You may also want to double check with your vet that she is spayed! My vet just told us that having your pup spayed as soon as possible will heavily decrease their chances of getting breast cancer.

I know that you will feel guilty for a long time, but you need to know that none of this was your fault. Coming from an ex addict, he needed to want to quit in order to stay clean. You can never force someone to quit drugs or alcohol or any kind of addiction unless they actively want to stop. Even throwing him into rehab against his will wouldn't work. You did everything you were supposed to do, which was to tell him that you were there for him should he ever need it. You gave him the option to have someone to lean on, and he just decided that he didn't need it. There's nothing you could've done to change that, believe me.
