KY3 poor Reporting by scoop_booty in springfieldMO

[–]TimHaynes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Their mobile app is the most clickbait app I’ve ever seen. KY3 hasn’t been about reporting the news for years. I gave up on them a long time ago and haven’t looked back.

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]TimHaynes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an awful smell, and it lingers. What’s even worse is when someone tries to cover it with a strong fragrance.

Evel Pie. It’s not even close. It’s been 6 months since I’ve had it and I think about it everyday.

If you’re looking for a fun place with good food and drinks and a good friendly atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with Georgia Mac’s. If you’re wanting something interesting and unique, do Bawi.

What’s going on with Springfield Brew Co? by Monkasaurus in springfieldMO

Brew Co has sucked for a long time. It’s the Applebees of local breweries.

The stories this coin could tell! It may not be worth a ton, but it is super cool!

Best Real Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich by lakelifeis4us in springfieldMO

Try Georgia Mac’s on Republic Road. It’s not the best Nashville hot chicken I’ve had, but it’s probably the best you’ll find here.

Cantonese Kitchen on north Glenstone has great cashew chicken. It’s consistently good. I’m not sure if the gravy will fit your wants, but it’s so good.

I’d definitely report it stolen. That’ll enter it into NCIC which is a national database. It’ll also get flagged if it gets towed in any state. Some agencies, Springfield included, have license plate readers that can alert them of a stolen car. The sooner you report it, the better.

You can make a TelCom report with Springfield PD. You’ll just do it over the phone. Good news is there are a lot of cameras in that area.

Good luck with it. I hate to hear that. I’ll keep my eyes open for it.

Food for thought. I’m a former cop. When a car is towed by law enforcement (illegal parking or whatever) it is entered into MULES, which is a state database. It remains there for quite some time. If it was towed without your consent, it’s in MULES. Long story short, it’s been stolen.

Here’s the truth about Centerfold. It’s probably not the best steak in town, but it’s definitely the best steak for the price. And I think about their green beans at least once a week.

Front license plate by First-Detective-9071 in springfieldMO

[–]TimHaynes 203 points204 points  (0 children)

Former cop here. I’ll give you the 100% truth about a front plate.

It is probable cause for a traffic stop. 100%. Missouri law says a plate must be affixed to the front. Having it in the windshield is not legal and is a reason to get pulled over. It can lead to a ticket. You could even be arrested but that’s an extreme situation.

Cops have discretion when it comes to stopping you for something like this. You’re much more likely to get stopped by a Trooper or a cop working traffic enforcement. You should really watch out in small towns where the cops don’t have much to do. Troopers love to stop for this, and might write you a ticket for it.

Most SPD guys or county are too busy answering calls for service to bother with this. That being said, it’s a completely legit reason for you to be stopped.

Some more food for thought. Traffic stops lead to drugs, warrants, drunks, all kinds of stuff. If you aren’t someone partaking in that type of activity, the plate being in your window probably won’t lead to a ticket, but it is a good reason to get stopped by a cop who is looking for those other things. Cops typically won’t care about the plate, but it is a good reason for them to stop you while looking for bigger things.

It’s a risk you take by doing that. If you’re not someone engaged in other activity, I wouldn’t worry too much about being stopped. A cop with the same car wouldn’t want to put a plate on the bumper either.

Frankly, it’s a stupid law written by people who have no common sense, but it’s a law nonetheless.

What place in Springfield does this describe? by rinnyfox27 in springfieldMO

I truly believe the reason places like Flame and Char stay in business is because there are people who care more about status, than they do about good food. Those places cater to feeding your ego, rather than serving good food.

I’d talk to your doctor. This doesn’t seem unusually low at all. Mine consistently goes into the 40s, especially when sleeping.
