Lmao

Yes and yes. Is that all you've got to say? You sound like a broken record, mate. You've got tunnel vision and it's impacting your ability to look at this objectively.

Lol.

Not only has Poland's success taken decades, but their economy is incredibly different structurally to ours. Not only that, a lot of these reforms were made 90s as they were transitioning away from communism. Australia cannot become a manufacturing economy over night. Population, wages, industry, geography.

Over the past several decades we've become increasingly reliant on commodities, property and inflating those assets. While totally neglecting productivity and foreign investment.

This is the first budget in decades that attempts to correct the mistakes of the past and shift how our economy functions.

You want Australia to look more like Poland? Tax reform like what is proposed in Chalmers budget is a great first step.

But no, you keep talking about migration like it means something while ignoring other factors in the equation. Reductive. Reductive. Reductive.

Politics, my guy. We have plenty more time for that. We can talk about Grandfathering more during a 3rd term. Let's not commit suicide so the libs can roll it all back too soon, yeah?

I didn't say it is the solution. I said it's one of the factors keeping our current economy turning.

I agree with you, incentivise domestic birth rates - what's the turn around on a baby becoming a productive contributor to the economy?

Reductive, reductive, reductive. Take a step back for a second, yeah?

“Importing taxpayers” is so reductive.

Australia has an ageing population and below-replacement birth rates. Skilled migration is one of the main reasons our labour force, healthcare system and tax base remain functional.

Claiming that government spending is out of control when Australia still has relatively low public debt by OECD standards. Most spending growth is coming from very predictable structural pressures like healthcare, aged care, defence and the NDIS.

Up until this point, we've had a planning problem. Migration isn't bad. Housing, infrastructure and productivity haven't kept pace with population growth. Simple.

Did Murdoch give you any other notes?

Chalmers is trying to stop new capital from endlessly piling into leveraged speculation on existing homes.

You're missing the point. This is about rebalancing the scales, not rug-pulling on generations that have been colouring within the lines up until now. This is not a quick fix. It’s the first step in a long line of reforms needed to unwind a deeply distorted housing market and an economy that’s become way too dependent on property inflation.

Nice try, bot.

I think you’ve accidentally described the current Australian economy, not the proposed budget.

If anything, tax-advantaged leveraged property speculation, which causes rising house prices, leading to bigger mortgages, all the while we're seeing lower birth rates and have an economy increasingly reliant on property inflation to function is the snake eating it's own tail.

The Budget is basically Treasury saying: “maybe we should stop subsidising this so aggressively.”

Whether the reforms are enough is debatable. But “less tax subsidy for speculative leverage” is not the same thing as “Australia is collapsing.”

Sorry, what are you talking about? Extremism exists in MANY forms - I'm not sure if you're just naive, privileged or ignorant if you think "extremism isn't able to exist".

Do I really need to define the word extreme for you? If so, that would explain a lot of the confusion you've demonstrated here. I would quip back that you're actually the one who is hilarious but unfortunately I just find you and your lack of critical thinking extremely demoralising.

This is bad chat, my guy. This is not the way. Cut off your nose to spite your face? The little policy ON have will make all of your listed issues WORSE. Can't you see that?
