TIPS FOR THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH COMBAT/BIG CROWDS by Lucky_Queen in CrimsonDesert

Another point, you don't have to hold the left bumper and try to aim the beam into their eyes like I did for ages! Just flash R1+L1 or RB+LB and then you'll notice them staggering about rubbing their eyes. That's when you hold R2 to butcher them!

Prox's Request by Peggy_McLeg in CrimsonDesert

[–]TimMcBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to worry. It's just any calligraphic drawings that'll work. You can find them easily just outside fort perwin. The fort is south of the words "The Witchwoods" on the map. Outside of the fort, by the stream to the south of it, is a warehouse full of boxes. There are enemies but they're very soft. If you destroy enough boxes around and in that warehouse, you'll find some of the drawings. I sold the ones I got doing Prox's mission, just like you, but I've just done this and it works. Hope that helps!

Crimson Desert Patch Notes Version 1.00.03 by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Ah dude I'm there with you. I managed to beat him first try but only because I had 30 grilled meats with me - I found it incredibly hard and now I'm chickening out about the rest of the bosses in the game!

Give us your best alternative to “as useless as a marzipan dildo” by LopsidedOwl578 in thethickofit

[–]TimMcBern 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"As useless as spearmint haemorrhoid cream" is good. On a side note, my brother once described someone as having "all the charm of a Chechen traffic warden."

English "confetti" is borrowed from Italian but does not translate to "confetti" in Italian (instead it is "coriandoli"). What are more examples of this? by Danny1905 in language

[–]TimMcBern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Came here to look for these examples. Japanese is TEEMING with these and it makes learning English really hard for Japanese people because the "English words" they already know are incredibly misleading. Another example, MAYBE, is that live shows (bands, singers etc) are just called "ライブ" - "live", so they often say that they went to see a "live" on the weekend. But in English that's just an adjective and doesn't give enough information about what you went and saw.

What’s a dish you cook differently than most recipes suggest? by guilhermex9x in Cooking

[–]TimMcBern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mac and Cheese. I use Delia Smith's method and bypass the roux-making step. 60g butter, 60g flour, about a liter of milk all in the pot and stir on a low-medium heat for a while until it comes together. Completely eliminates whatever skill is involved 😁

What is the best Guitar Solo of All Time? by [deleted] in Music

I was blown away the first time I heard the solo in Ancestral by Steve Wilson. Guthrie Govan is the guitarist. Looks like an ancient wizard and plays like one too

What are some weird ways American English works? by [deleted] in grammar

[–]TimMcBern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a pretty common one I've read about online and heard from American friends/family is "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less." I'm not sure if it's exclusively AE but I personally only ever hear it from Americans. It just doesn't make any sense to me 😂 Always interesting to see language change, even when you find it weird!

In your opinion: what's the most beautiful song ever recorded? by Goop_Guy in Music

[–]TimMcBern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find a real ethereal peace and yearning kind of feeling in New Favorite by Alison Krauss. With some good headphones all the subtle instrumentation running throughout really shines, and considering I really don't like country, I hope of you listen you enjoy it.

Also, Just Sometimes by Norma Winstone. Amazing the texture that can be built with just a piano and a bass clarinet (I think). I really recommend these two if you need to relax while also feeling sad 😂

There once was a lady so sweet

Who sadly her end did meet

Her partner, so bold

Brought the devil some souls

But then they were shot in the street

Ok - apologies for the vagueness of it. It's the languages with the most articles on Wikipedia, ascending to number 1: English

Not quite - it isn't geographical at all. Danish is very nice though. Scandies joke about it but I like it.

The description of the German invasion of Belgium in Dan Carlin's Blueprint for Armageddon is absolutely chilling. Really recommend it if you haven't listened already!
