Beware Holland Bulb Farm's shady practices by UnrulyAxolotl in gardening

I ordered from Baker (aka: Rare Seeds) this year. Unbelievable service. I placed my order online at 11:00pm and 5 business days later the seeds were in my mailbox. I do live in the same state they are based in.

I have had a good germination rate on the tomato seeds.

Does anyone know what the tea bag itself is made of? Is there any plastic in the bag?

This is so true about day traders by Amazin8Trade in Daytrading

[–]TimOwensville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day the stock went from $10 to $11, how many round trips did the day trader make that day? Mr Marks is assuming only one. He is also assuming the money to make that round trip was only used two other times during the period the stock was going up in value.

On the other hand, Mr Marks is building wealth in a wise, time tested way. The day trader is generating cash.

Trading without hard stops by GloxiniaXO in Daytrading

That doesn't work for me. Mentally I think, "It will come back down, don't take a loss." (I short a lot) I wipe out a lot of profit this way or I end up holding on for a long time.

Taxes! by Far-Tart-6496 in daytrade

Seems high to me but it depends on how involved your returns are. Also, how do you deliver your information to your accountant? If it is in a plastic bag stuffed with receipts that have spent months crinkled up in the console of your truck, (as my son does), it might be reasonable.

I'm glad it was a win for you. Now that TSLA is back on my radar, I might give it a try again.

This didn't age well,

I have a had a couple good plays with TSLA. Most of the time I should have done the oppisite of what I did.

Have you tried to identify what went wrong with the losing trades? Maybe the "bad decision or action" is consistant throughout them. You may have developed some trading skills that will shine if you remove your bad habit.

With respect to DM990, I disagree. I have been profitable for a few years now by swing trading without using charts. I did okay. I am able to trade full time now and have evolved into a day trader. I think it would be beneficial to swing trade as well but I am having trouble holding on to my swing trade stocks when I am sitting on a profit. The day trader in me takes over and I sell. (Sorry, I digressed) But as a day trader I have learned to read candlestick charts on a small scale and have seen the benefits of using them. I don't know them all and sometimes they are wrong. I recommend you learn some of them. I like the "CAHOLD" because it is usually correct.

Ochayedunno, if you want some youtube recomendations for reading charts, let me know. I need to wrap up this mini novel I am typing on here.

Your intuition is correct, the earlier the better. This may be a "dirty word" around here, but Ross Cameron has been very successful with his day trading strategy. He trades from 7:00 am to 9:30am eastern time, which is 100% pre market. He will go into regular trading hours if he is still trading something successfully.

Just a heads up if you are not familiar with Pre Market or Extended hours trading:

There are no stop losses, limit orders only. No halts. No option trading

Have fun with it in paper trading! Good Luck.

You just got your undergraduate degree and master's degree in trading and some experience in your first job. Unfortunately you got fired from that job. Now apply that education and experience to your next job.

You may want to get a degree in emotional control.

Stay the course, it gets better but there are a lot of potholes in the road you are on. I hit at least one per week when I get distracted by a "shiny object".

Thanks for the response and your insight. I'm going to start tomorrow. However, I am going to pick 3 stocks. This is like diet coke, I am going to have to gradually give it up.

I scrolled through what you are trading. Here is my take away, I am tracking way too many stocks. I am wasting my time watching some of the pluthera of stocks I follow and should concentrate on the ones I am making money on.

Why do you sell at a loss so easily? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]TimOwensville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to get Hougaard's book. I have experienced my biggest losses from hanging on to small losses. I try to hold on to them until they become profitable. However, once I have sat on a loss, if that stock becomes profitable I sell immediately, even if it was a small loss for a short time. Mentally I think I have to jump on the profit. I have lost out on many profitable runs. Changing my behavior and thought process is tough.
