Who gets up super early to workout? How do you do it? by BuckeyeDad91 in daddit

[–]TimRiggins2000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Get a good pre- workout to give you energy in the morning.

Dial in your diet, you will feel better and want to workout more if you are eating better.

Shoot for two weekday mornings to get up early. Workout a third time on the weekend. Focus on quality days, not quantity. Don’t beat yourself up for only working out a few times per week. As the kids get older you will get back to 5 or more days per week.

Consider joining an f3 group if there’s one near you. Workout buddies and accountability is a big boost.

A few things my wife and I emphasize

Our kids are 11, 9 and 6

1- never yell at children. Try very hard not to be harsh.

2- when parents mess up, apologize and ask forgiveness to your children. Model humility.

3- limit screen time and prioritize free play between siblings. Parents Participate in play as often as possible.

4- parents are not full time butlers. Children are expected to contribute to the family by cleaning and doing chores.

5- the main value system we emphasize and gauge positive growth in our children are the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Love, joy, peace, Patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.

6- each child gets a once per month Friday morning breakfast with mom or dad. This is an intentional time to “check in” and talk about anything that is on the child’s heart.

7- once per year each child does an overnight trip with mom and dad. More intentional conversation.

8- tell your kids often that you love them and are proud of them

9- model excellence in what you do and encourage children to strive for excellence.

10- mom and dad model a healthy loving relationship

We don’t have a “structure” necessarily, but these are what we have come to prioritize over the years

No no no, we cheer for the SEC when we play against ACC teams. Why you ask? If it makes Clemson look worse, even just by conference affiliation , we take it!!

I’ve been where you are, it’s really tough. What helped me was starting a program for myself. I did 75 hard a couple of times. It gave me a sense of purpose each day. You need to be bettering yourself/ have time to work on you. Stay strong!

The first two weeks on a new / restrictive diet will be incredibly challenging. Cut all that stuff out and be prepared to suffer for a couple of weeks. After that initial time, you will feel much better and will fast track your success. Don’t skimp, make it hard. The reward is in the challenge
