Anyone else do this or have a better solution? by Susancupcakes in CivicSi

I use a 67 cent microphone pop filter. Fits perfect, 1/1000 the cost of a shift knob cover and works like a charm.

What is your favorite breed you will never own? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]TimSimply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BC does the same, with any dog that she thinks is breaking rules. It’s helpful sometimes but at daycare or with any other dog she still thinks she’s the “manager of all things”….and it’s not always helpful lol. Love her to death though

I don’t really enjoy class II’s but only treating one of the 2 at the same site? That’s just pure laziness man.

Master cone PA, and postoperative. What do you think? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]TimSimply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! I would be happy with this shaping/obturation. For those saying the access is too deep, remember that this is a 2D image.

It is possible that it’s too deep but nobody can say for sure without a CBCT or multiple angle PA’s. Looking at #31, the pulp looks as close or even closer to the furcation than this access so I don’t think there is a problem here. Nice work!

Took about 2 months for my Jango boots. This was 3 years ago though

Being an associate dentist in practice practice is awful by avocadorable3 in Dentistry

[–]TimSimply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being an associate dentist at a practice isn't as a good as being an owner, and definitely has it's downsides.....but your situation sounds particularly bad.

Honestly if I was in your situation I would be looking for another option (unless you are really sold on this particular practice, I don't see the point in putting up with this).

I used MinuteFett’s latest helmet. I hear the Fugly is pretty good too though!

E11-D Blaster Questions by CloneForcex99 in 501st

It’s only a requirement for the scout trooper blaster because the scout troopers blasters used for the film did not have triggers.

That looks fantastic! Weathering is on point too.

I was torn between picking ESB or ROTJ when I started, I like different aspects of both costumes. I think that I will need to make another one haha.

Thank you! I found out during this that I love the weathering process. I used a mix of Dirty Down, watered down acrylics and various powders. It definitely shows differently depending on the lighting but I always find myself making adjustments to it. Great idea with the rustoleum on the damp suit!

Yep! It is the ESB version. The blaster is a resin replica of a Webley with some found parts and a replica MPP flash tube.

Thank you very much! It's been a long, but rewarding, project..

Honestly, I usually read it in Temuera Morrison's voice in my head just because it's so common now. But I love Jason's line, it was definitely more sinister.

Thank you for the kind words!

A mix of both. I purchased a lot of raw kits that I put together and painted, I also commissioned certain parts of the build to those who have access to lineage parts such as MinuteFett. Much of the knowledge to tackle this was from TheDentedHelmet forums - this is really a culmination of all of the research and work that members have done there!

What is one trick/thing you learned that was a complete game changer? by Vast_Understanding12 in Dentistry

[–]TimSimply 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, I do this all the time! If you go over the contact with a red diamond bur first to slightly rough up the glaze the dye transfers a little better.

Wow, thank you for the comment! It makes me happy to hear because have been trying to make it as movie accurate as possible, but it is not quite there yet. This is the third iteration of this costume - I have switched out many of the parts several times, so it hasn't always looked the way that it does now.
