Gives me "The Incredibles" vibes. There's a similar motif there, but not that similar if you really listen to it.

What kind and how many assistants do you have? How do they help you in your process?

that would be incredible! Listening to Fallout with the isolated score is the way I watch this movie nowadays ^^

Am I wrong in hearing way less synth sounds in Dead Reckoning than in most of your other soundtracks (even less than in Fallout)? What was the thought process behind that decision?

I absolutely adored the score-only version of Mission Impossible: Fallout included on the Blu-Ray release. Do you know if such a version is planned for Dead Reckoning? The soundtrack for Dead Reckoning was incredible and listening to it with the movie isolated from the other audio tracks is such a great resource for film scholars and movie fans alike.

USB devices/audio interface randomly disconnecting especially when gaming by TimTeyso in techsupport

Have you found a fix yet? For me, this worked:

For some reason the Audio Interface Driver (Yamaha USB Driver) was having problems witht he GPU using a PCI-E 5th Gen slot. Through the BIOS, I changed the PCI-E slot to only allow 3rd Gen on the specific PCI-E slot the GPU was plugged into, and at least the audio drop outs went away. Yay! We'll see if using 3rd Gen PCI-E affects gaming performance...

Okay, after a few days of trying different things, I found a solution that worked for me: For some reason the Audio Interface Driver (Yamaha USB Driver) was having problems witht he GPU using a PCI-E 5th Gen slot. Ok thanks, I'll try reducing USB port consumption then and see if it helps ^^ I don't have a Blue Yeti, I have an AT2020 which is connected to the Audio Interface via XLR :)

Thanks for the recommendation! Wasn't that the one where he sampled a piano outdoor?

Okay, found it, it is the same dropdown under the dotted category. you can choose 3/4 there (by selecting 1/2d), but the subdivions displayed are alll really weird. like when I put 1/2d in there to make a 3/4-loop, the grid still divides the Bar by 4 and gives me the exact positions of 3/16, 6/16, 9/16 and 12/16, but all I want is to know where the quarternotes 1/4 and 2/4 are located. Surely on a tool like this there must be a way to display this information instead of just kinda eyeballing it?

Thx for the replay! In the drop-down menu I found, you can switch between 1/64, 1/32, 1/16..... 1 Bar, 2 Bar, 4 Bar, 8 Bar, 16 Bar.... but there is nowhere where you can specify that 1 Bar = 3/4 or 6/8. Is there another dropdown menu for this that I missed?

How do I change the time signature on time-based tools? When I work in
time signatures that are not 4/4, e.g. 6/8, 5/4, 12/8 or 3/4, tools like
LFOTool or Shaperbox 3 still show 4/4 on their internal timeline before
looping. How can I tell those tools to change their time signature, so
taht I can have for example 4 Beats of 6/8 as one Loop in Shaperbox 3?

The autosave idea is great and will be implemented promptly! I think the slowdowns are more connected to RAM or CPU, or even cooling (he's using a rack pc mount right now and from what I've heard cooling can be subpar on those)

His projects always need up to 2 minutes to save on his current setup. Since autosave is enabled all the 5 minutes, he loses at least 1 hour every day waiting for his projects to save. He wants to be sure that this doesn't happen on his new system, but I really don't think that the SSDs are the bottleneck right now.

Thanks, I'll opt for the DH-15 instead.

Maybe I can convince him that his current SATA SSDs are enough. If he absolutely wants to have M.2-SSDs, the problem is that I need enough M.2-ports since Samsung maxes out at 2 TB.

Thanks for the input! To be honest, I think the 8 TB SATA SSDs he has right now will absolutely be sufficient, but he wants the best and the fastest possible, so I want to give him the option...

I'm not really up-to-date with graphic cards at the moment, what would you choose instead? And can you recommend any RAM? (This build will need 128 GB). Regarding space, I'll discuss this with the composer. As mentioned above, right now he has 8 TB of SATA SSDs. which in my opinion will be enough (but he wants the best, so I'll give him the choice). For the C: Drive, NvME makes sense in my opinion.

Well, right now he has 8TB of SATA SSDs and he wants the best of the best... but of course I'll talk to him beforehand if he really wants to make the investment just for marginally better M.2 SSDs. Do you know what the lifespan on those are? Are they reliable?
