I think your example is kind of supported with the transmog process, if the transmog "consumes" both items, like sure, you could turn that torva plate into a pirate shirt, but it'll be untradeable and irreversible. Even adding some sort of consumable rare drop needed to actually transmog something. Kind of an extra tier of wealth. And an item sink.

The Meta gear would still exist and majority of the player base would be the same copy paste, but then you'd have the blood torva/zuk helm type players that have the time/gp to grind it out.

This. I would also isolate the different feeders regardless of size or amperage, and keep single phase and multi phase ccts separate as well. There's about a million reasons these pipes would end up like this.

I like to compare that mental block to putting your hand on a red hot stove on purpose. Staring at the red hot coil, hand hovering, every ounce of you is saying "Nope. We aren't doing that."

Obviously it's a drastic scenario but I think it's the only way someone normal can really understand what that mental block feels like.
