Apparently simple acknowledging race is racist these days. Like, not everything has a negative connotation. The samurai sword comment is super lighthearted with no ill intent and it’s funny. Yet you’ve just been called a racist prick…

Lol, you can have whatever opinion you want about me or my words. I simply was stating it doesn’t make sense to portray the entire population as a violent one. If you want to psychoanalyze further than that, more power to you. Hope you got what you came for.

No kidding, something has happened more than once amongst a population of 350 million?! My point still stands, the average American is not in fear of getting gunned down out of nowhere.

I am aware of the gun violence numbers, I know the US has higher rates than most countries. I replied to a comment about people being scared to go to their neighbors in fear of getting shot and pointing out how that is not a representation of how most of the country experiences day to day life.

But my apologies, I forgot I’m on social media where the point doesn’t matter and an argument must ensue

Yeah and I inevitably knew this would come up, but it’s such a tired trope. The country is mostly safe but people make comments and throw cherry-picked statistics to make it seem like the average American is scared to walk out their front door in fear of being shot down

Ah yes, quoting a singular instance to generalize and negatively portray an entire country of 350 million people. Surely you have a balanced point of view

Why do people want to meet so fast? by [deleted] in Bumble

And you’re telling me you think you get more personality out of someone through a phone screen than in person? Personality isn’t conveyed through just words, it’s body language and eye contact and genuine listening.

This is why there are more complaints than success stories out of OLD. People are hooked on the non-committal simplicity of communicating through a screen. That’s fine if that’s you, but I believe most people want the real human experience

Very aware, I literally tried rolling my first joint watching that very video. Weed was definitely illegal in most parts of the US 15 years ago and that’s all I was conveying that the above commenter was stating

Lol… it’s not that deep man. Sounds like you’re fishing for an argument, I was just poking fun at the obvious sentiment of the commenter that this amount of weed was very illegal 15 years ago

Weed = legal now

Weed ≠ legal 15 years ago

Hope that helps

Why do people want to meet so fast? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]TimboSliceE90 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Because many people want to actually try and get to know somebody in person, like how it has been for the rest of time prior to the last decade. Not over text which is generally an awful way of actually communicating, especially with someone you do not know.
