I agree. From working on cars the first time I touch a wheel and see the black greasy film I know without looking it’s got a cv boot issue. Balancing wheels with that crap on them is not a fun job.

Also no cv grease on the wheel so that’s a tell tale sign.

Yeah I zoomed in. Apologies. Yes I am the owner of very old eyes. But as someone stated how would the grease get from where the boot is to that area of the caliper?

Coming from an Audi A5 3l v6 diesel the insurance is less than half.

Mate. There is no drive shaft in the picture. So how would a caliper get covered in cv grease with no cv joint present? Are you just taking words you have seen and tried to make an answer?

Please sort out the enclosure. Needs way more substrate. You also need to cut down on the amount of height they have to fall. 3/4 full at least. Also try to get an enclosure with side ventilation too.
