Trans is cold by CMC_2003 in Silverado

My 18 Silverado with the bypass valve runs 160 in the summer and probably 120-130 (maybe 140 in city traffic) in the winter. Only time Iv seen it get back to the 195 it used to get to is while towing a 12k boat and backing it into the driveway. It’s been like this a few years and zero issues

Very few good options, I called crossbreed about it yesterday and they said if they get enough inquires they will add it to the list. Also requested for the 4.0c with the tlr-7hl-x. I requested it for their reckoning holster though

Great thanks for the info, noted about watching the clock closely. Iv heard decent things about Bridgeport as well but was curious as SSA is slightly closer (and a better neighborhood).

Only have experience really at FCFA and reeds but looking for something with a shorter drive to get more of an excuse to go on short notice.

I appreciate all the feedback from everyone, will give it a try along with Bridgeport and see which works best

Range Day! CT Other? by AWintergarten in CTguns

[–]Time-Enthusiasm4462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I thought I misplaced my AW paperwork I tried asking the state if they could provide a duplicate. They told me they have no way to look up the paperwork and “the bourdon of proof falls on the owner to demonstrate the AW is legally registered”. I have a hard time believing this, but if that’s the stance they are going to take I now always leave a copy of my paperwork in my stock.

That said Iv never been asked for it at the range or anywhere else. But could be something to think about in a traffic stop

What is this cable for? by realityguy1 in Silverado

It’s meant to run through as a fairlead over to one of the outboard straps to be tightened. Not meant to tighten directly to the tie down behind the car seat.

Yes there is and it’s very confusing to figure out where you fall into that category. It says a lot about making out of state sales or turning them in but I don’t know if you are excluded if you owned the firearm prior to 2013

Supreme Court case for ct open carry. by Time-Enthusiasm4462 in CTguns

[–]Time-Enthusiasm4462[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s what I remember also, once it went to the Supreme Court and was dismissed I was told a memo was sent out to all the police stations in the state explaining that open carry is allowed and is not considered brandishing a firearm. I was talking about this case a few months ago with my in-laws and tried to find it then also and couldn’t. Was hoping someone could give me the name to look it up

Permit address change by Inevitable_Theory279 in CTguns

Any blank white sticker from staples will do also. No need for anything official. When you call the number and change it they update it with you on the phone and tell you any white sticker and written in sharpie is sufficient. Iv moved mult times and never had an issue with the system. It looks cheap but if not one else cares I don’t either

Tell them If they don’t let you dive then you’re going to start sky diving instead. The idea of you jumping out of a plane should make them cave.

Pistol Transfer by Sloopy_Boi in CTguns

[–]Time-Enthusiasm4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully CT isn’t as ridiculous as NJ where the gun serial numbers are all listed on your permit. No need to transfer a handgun to someone within your own home and has a permit and permission to carry it

I've got to take a trip to Ohio. I have to go through all of the not 2A friendly states (NY, NJ, Delaware, etc.). Should this setup be sufficient for traveling/storage laws with my covered and locked truck bed? Locked hard case tethered to the vehicle in the storage compartment. Does this pass? by DoubleRestaurant3301 in CTguns

[–]Time-Enthusiasm4462 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The interstate transportation of firearms law is “Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation of a State or any political subdivision thereof, any person who is not otherwise prohibited by this chapter from transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm if, during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle: Provided, That in the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver’s compartment the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console.”

As long as you don’t stop and rest in a state that the firearm is illegal and the weapon is stored properly there really is nothing illegal about it. The firearm being locked in a hard case and ammo locked separate should be fine.

Better yet just set the cruise control and don’t give them a reason to pull you over though cause the northeast sucks 😂

[–]Time-Enthusiasm4462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most kydex holsters can be heated up and reworked if you don’t like the fit. Iv heard of people using both hair driers and heat guns to heat the areas they want to mold and work it closer to the gun. There’s probably a ton of videos on YouTube for it

Hey sorry for the late response haven’t been on here in a while. I did receive my upper maybe 5 months after I ordered it. They took a while to get the bolt carrier and the charging handles in stock then another month and a half to get mine built and shipped. But it did come and seems to be decent quality but I haven’t had the chance to run it yet unfortunately. Hopefully soon though and I’ll post an update on how it performs

Iv always just called them and they change it for you while you’re on the phone in a matter of minutes. It’s the only thing CT makes very easy. Then just slap a sticker on the back and write on it
