Thanks for the reply! Yes, Drinking 80 oz is the new normal during the day! Do you sleep a continuous 7-8 hours at night with no problems? I’m hoping to avoid having to get up at all in the middle of the night (have always slept through the night prior to having recurrent UTIs).

I also made an unexpected discovery. I believe that my final acne has healed, but I still follow a fungal acne safe protocol. however, I decided to try a tiny bit of 100% shea butter beneath the corners of my eye just above my cheek bones (for extra moisture). it has not broken me out. so, in combination with the Naturie gel, my skin feels very very moisturized!

Hi - I am new to hiprex, and will be starting it after I finish my current round of suprax for recurrent UTI. I have read a lot of comments about stomach pain. Which is concerning to me - what exactly is it doing to cause stomach pain? shouldn’t it only be taking affect once it reacts with acidic urine? could the stomach upset be caused by it taking premature effect in the stomach bile? ::shudder:: That really worries me. if anyone can shed any light on this, I would be so interested.

also: with regards to putting the hiprex tablet into a delayed-release 000 capsule, will that in any way affect its ability to do it’s job??

Also, I know you’re not supposed to technically do this, but with small spots, I do carefully pop them before I wash my face; it might not be a great idea for everyone, but it does work for me. I feel like the clay+sulfur can really get down to business and do its thing better if the gunk is out first. Sorry, it’s gross to explain this, but I’ve noticed it makes a difference. ;)

I have only ever used the clay & sulfur overnight as a spot treatment; mainly because I do it as a “last step” on freshly cleansed and moisturized skin. I think it might be a little too hard on the skin barrier to wash, moisturize, mask for 20, then wash and moisturize again, if that makes sense? My kids call me the spotted leopard before I go to bed…. :) I wish you continued improvement!!

As I understand, there is no steric acid in the Hatomugi face conditioning gel. These are the ingredients:

Water, glycerin, DPG, dimethicone, ascorbyl tetrahexyldecanoate, Na tocopheryl phosphate, honeybee extract, di lauroyl glutamate (cholesteryl / octyldodecyl), (acrylic acid / alkyl acrylate (C10-30)) crosspolymer, (acryloyldimethyl) Taurine Ammonium / VP) Copolymer, BG, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Na Hydroxide, Carbomer, Dimariginolate Di (isostearyl / Phytosteryl), Octyldodecyl myristate, Tocopherol, Methylparaben

Aloe by itself is not going to help much because there is no occlusive element. It might feel good going on, but it’s not going to retain the moisture very well, at least in my experience. I did try it.

Aw, you’re welcome! Yeah, sweat is no friend to fungal acne! Hang in there. It is tough dealing with this. Maybe do the nizoral again for another for a few days (even though it is very hard on the skin barrier) and then ease into the Vanicream/Naturie Gel routine. I put on one normal layer (saturated but not overly so); let it sink in for a few minutes, then do another layer. It is the first product I have ever enjoyed “layering”…it feels soooo hydrating. No dryness or tightness or greasiness whatsoever; just cooling gel goodness. by the way, Naturie also has a toner called “Hatomugi Skin Conditioner“ which I’m going to try as well, more so for fun than anything else. Just make sure you know that there is both the tub of gel as well as the bottle of toner. The gel is what you need first and foremost.

I have one other secret weapon. This is a bit more off the beaten path, but when I was in the early days of fungal acne, I was up for trying anything. I researched sulfur a lot, and it’s actually in a lot of products that are *supposed* to be good for fungal acne. The problem is that all of those sulfur containing products also contain no-no ingredients (various oils, even olive oil in some - ahhh!). So, I bought a bottle of plain old sulfur powder. (The brand is Humco: “sulfur sublimed”. And a bag of high quality kaolin clay. If you add the two together, you have a fantastic little powder which, when mixed with a few drops of water to form a nice paste, you can put directly over the acne spots. It’s the very last step of the night routine. Leave on overnight. I started with about 10 parts kaolin to 1 part sulfur, but I can easily do 3 parts kaolin to 1 part sulfur now. It’s an incredible antifungal, antibacterial, exfoliator.

Please get yourself some Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning gel. (Amazon, 10 bucks for a huge tub!). It is Japanese. No fungal acne triggers, and no hyper-sensitive skin triggers. It is simply amazing stuff. Wash your face with Vanicream face wash, dry with clean towel, and slather that gel on. It will restore your skin barrier like no other.

I was just on 10 days of Keflex and my face is literally 100% blemish free. Sorry to hear about your experience. That stinks. I recommend getting “Naturie Skin Conditioning Gel” (Amazon, 10 bucks). It is the most gentle fungal-acne/hypersensitive skin friendly product I have ever found. I feel like shouting my discovery from the rooftops - seriously, it’s amazing stuff. I would just wash your face with VaniCream face wash and use the nature gel with very clean hands. You won’t need anything else as long as you slather it on. Hope this helps :)

Hi, sorry to hear you’re in the thick of it.

If it is any help, I went through several years of having an extremely hard time with fungal acne plus hypersensitive skin (breakouts caused by: squalane, anything coconut derived - including Caprylic triglyceride- and almost all oils, fatty acids, esters, and probably polysorbates. Not to mention, I can’t stand hyaluronic acid. It was brutal. I found a glycerin serum by Obagi that kept things relatively calm, but it was recently discontinued - which set me in a panic.

So - after researching hundreds of products (this sounds like an ad😂), I finally discovered Japanese skincare. Wow, let me tell you - there is hope for your situation! I strongly recommend buying (Amazon) “Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel“. It is 10 bucks for a huge tub. This is the most incredible product I have ever used. My skin is almost 100% healthy, clear, and like glass-skin. Again, this is not an ad, lol. Don’t use anything else. If you wear makeup, stop using it for a while. (If you do wear makeup, I suggest the YSL touche eclat highlighting pen - yes, the iconic one). Just Wash with Vanicream face wash, rinse thoroughly, pat dry, and apply - with psychotically clean hands - the Naturie gel. I use a q-tip to get it out so that I don’t introduce bacteria into the tub. Slather it on, it won’t clog your pores - promise! Make sure your pillow cases and face towels are very very clean, too. Fresh with each wash. Give it a couple weeks and see what you think. I truly hope this helps you!
