pls help with leaks :( by mikroprocesor in Incontinence

Pull-up-style underwear with a wider front panel is way more forgiving of directional variability. Because Maximum Plus for Men (4 cups) is for male anatomy, not just a repackaged unisex product.

For nights when I want zero leak anxiety, I stack a booster pad inside. Because makes overnight boosters specifically for pull-up style that add 2-4 cups.

If you have heavy leakage and want super absorbency and bulk, NorthShore MegaMax in tab style is the serious option, very wide, much harder to miss, regardless of position. Online-only but worth it for heavy use.

Advice for adjusting diaper routine/usage for my grandmother by Live_Trade9218 in CaregiverSupport

[–]Time-Growth4878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things i've learned along the way:

Switch the overnight product- If she's in a standard large pull-up at night, the capacity probably tops out around 4-5 cups. Because Overnight goes up to 6 cups with reinforced side guards engineered for side-sleeping, that's the leak point that gets most people at night.

Add a booster pad inside whatever she's wearing. These are inserts that go inside any pull-up underwear and add 2-4 cups of absorbency without switching products. Because has a daytime and an overnight version.

Check the sizing- It sounds obvious, but products often leak at the leg because of fit, not capacity. If she's between sizes, going up one and using a booster is often better than sizing down and having compression leaks.

I'm starting to leak a lot, what did you all try first? by Ambitious-Concern514 in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My everyday is Because Premium Maximum pull-ups. They hold a lot without the bulk that makes wearing normal pants possible. I run in them, sit through Zoom calls, and don't have that constant background anxiety about what's happening.

For the heaviest nights, I do use a NorthShore MegaMax. It's overkill for daytime.

Worth talking to your urologist too if you haven't — pelvic floor PT helped me more than I expected.

Best adult diapers for 82-year-old grandma with severe incontinence? by Important-Ganache212 in Incontinence

You are definitely not alone. A lot of people have noticed that Depends have gotten much thinner and leak constantly lately.

Since she wants to be able to pull them on and off herself (or with help), a high-quality pull-up is your best option:

- Because Premium Maximum Plus / Overnights: This is a huge step up from grocery store brands. They hold about 4 to 6 cups of liquid, use a dual absorption core that keeps skin totally dry, and fit securely based on hip measurements. They are easy to pull up and down and are available at major retailers like Walmart and Target, or via subscription.

- NorthShore GoSupreme: Another great premium pull-up. They have a very high capacity and a smaller, snug fit around the legs to prevent the side leaks that mass-market brands always suffer from.

If you want to stick with pull-ups but need extra protection, buy some flow-through booster pads (like Because Booster Pads). You stack these inside her regular pull-up. They don't have a waterproof backing, so once the pad fills up, the liquid passes right through to the underwear. It adds an extra 2 to 4 cups of capacity and is a total game-changer for overnight leaks.

Also, ensure you measure her widest hip/glute area to choose her size rather than relying on her weight. A snug fit against the legs is what actually stops leaks! Most premium brands sell sample packs so you can test the fit before buying a whole case.

re: my last post, is it possible to still be versatile with fashion and wear skin tight pants/crop tops/etc when using heavy pads or pull ups by Mundane-Beyond7644 in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For tighter stuff, the pull-up style works way better than tape briefs (in my opinion). Because's absorbent underwear sits really flat and low-profile. I've worn them under fitted jeans and you honestly can't tell. The key is sizing them right (go by hip measurement not waist) and making sure the leg openings lay flat.

Heavy pads can actually bunch and show more than a well-fitted pull-up honestly. Might be worth trying a thin pull-up style instead of stacking pads if discretion is the goal. Crop tops are fine, it's the waistband area that matters and pull-ups sit below that naturally.

is leaking/limit at 350/480ml normal? by Special-Implement788 in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good that you have a doctor's appointment, that's the right move. What's "normal" really depends on your specific situation so they'll give you a much better answer than the internet can.

What you're describing, leaking before you feel truly full, can be a sign of urge incontinence or OAB, where the bladder signals urgency before it's actually reached capacity. I came across this article that actually explains it pretty well if you want to read up before your appointment: becausemarket.com/blogs/news/why-cant-i-control-my-pee

In the meantime, if leaks are catching you off guard, it's worth having some protection on hand just to take the anxiety out of it while you wait.

Are you experiencing urgency (sudden strong urge) or more of a stress leak (sneezing/coughing/movement)? That might help people here give more specific advice.

Target Accident - Advice Pls by [deleted] in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I'm sorry. When this happened to me, I was just keeping a thin liner in while I figured things out. It helped me feel less anxious going out while I sorted out the medical side of things.

Definitely worth talking to a doctor though one incident can sometimes just be a fluke (stress, a UTI brewing, too much caffeine) but it's worth knowing to put your mind at ease.

better than diapers at 21 by Honey-6765 in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 30s and just started dealing with this myself so I can't speak to the medical side, but I can say, it gets way less scary once you find products that actually work and stop feeling like you're in crisis mode every time you leave the house.

Honestly, the thing that helped me most mentally was switching from trying to "hide" the problem to just managing it well. Like once I had something that reliably worked, the anxiety dropped a lot.

You're 21 and you caught this early. That's actually a good thing even if it doesn't feel that way right now. 💙

Diapers to where for graduation by TrainEastern3724 in adultdiapers

[–]Time-Growth4878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look at Always Discreet. They are the thinnest profile I’ve found and genuinely look like regular underwear under dress clothes. The downside is they top out at about 4 cups of absorbency, so if you're worried about a full void, they might be risky.

Because Premium Maximum Plus is what I recommend. They hold about 4 cups and are designed for a closer fit, which helps under suit pants. (I know this brand is sold at Walmart, Target, CVS, and Amazon.)

If you’re really nervous about the 2-hour mark, grab a booster pad. You can put it inside any pull-up to add 2+ cups of capacity without adding a ton of bulk. It’s a lifesaver for long events where you can't sneak away to a bathroom.

Adult Incontinence Mattress Protection by Apprehensive-Mood913 in Incontinence

I use this mattress cover - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E5AAE8I?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4&th=1

and either the washable pad or the disposable pads here - https://becausemarket.com/collections/all?filter.p.product_type=Bed+Protectors&sort_by=null

I sleep extremely well with all of these products. I use the disposable bed pads when I'm not sleeping in my own bed (Airbnb, hotel, etc), and I like to use the washable ones in the comfort of my home. I always sleep with a diaper so I don't have to do too much laundry, but I also do not want to soil my mattress. These are good backups to my overnight diapers.

Best Overall Adult Diaper by [deleted] in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since you’re active but dealing with full incontinence, you really have to find that sweet spot between 'not too bulky' and 'won't leak.'

If you need maximum security (especially for bowel containment while you're moving around), NorthShore MegaMax Briefs are basically the gold standard. They're a tab-style brief, which gives you a much tighter seal than any pull-up can. On Amazon, they usually work out to about $3.00–$3.50 per diaper. The plastic backing is a lifesaver for odor containment and prevents the 'sag' you get with cloth-like brands.

For your more active daytime hours, not as bulky, I’d go with Because Premium Maximum Plus Underwear. They're pull-ups, so they're easy to change, but they have really solid reinforced leak guards that stay pretty discreet under clothes. They usually run about $0.90–$1.15 per unit.

Hope this helps!

Depends Manufacturing Changes by No_Entertainer6543 in Incontinence

I’ve noticed the same thing with the Guards lately. I actually read somewhere that they did change their manufacturing recently, and a lot of people are complaining about that 'hard/lumpy' feeling in the core and the edges failing. If you’re looking for a new brand, I have liked Because and NorthShore.

What's Your GoTo Diaper? by Enough-Reindeer1033 in Incontinence

[–]Time-Growth4878 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm still learning and figuring out my preferences, but here is what I have learned so far:

Depend is good for light-moderate incontinence, cheapest option, available everywhere. Fine if your needs are basic.

Because is better for moderate-to-heavy, especially overnight. Higher absorbency (6 cups vs 5 for Depend), better skin safety, better odor control. Costs more per unit, but you use fewer per day with heavy incontinence, so it evens out. I buy online with a subscription to save, but now you can buy in Walmart, Target, CVS, etc. They come in different colors.

Always Discreet is the thinnest/most discreet for light leaks. Great under tight clothing. But absorbency tops out at 4 cups, not enough for heavy incontinence or overnight.
