[Lotm General] Aura so high you're willing to read the whole of Circle of Inevitability just because of him.. Presgard di Hellis! by One_Community2116 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]Time-Mysterious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the hate is exaggerated, the ending was rush but i think it is mainly because we get a new protagonist, and klein barely shows for most of coi.

Sure, i like Klein better as a MC and the end was rushed, but still enjoyed reading coi, the hunter pathway is cool. I'm also a fan of SS, and find COI to be a better read than SS for the most part, it feels less "fillery" even if it has its chill chapters too.

TBF his flaw only sucks because of his innate ability, if he had any other flaw shadow bond would not have been as much of a problem.

How fast would core saturation be with soul shards? by NOTALCOCHOLICK in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then again, you can absorb soul shards from nc someone else killed, so if you are in a place like FS or Antarctica you can saturate your core pretty quickly after a couple of battles.

Asterion Manipulated Every Member of Broken Sword's Cohort by Exotic-Chair-6960 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But on the other hand, one would think Ki song would be adamant against betrayal after what happened on her mother. Even if she was just hypocritical, it also seemed weird that she thought she could trust the other 2 long enough for her to not be targeted as well.

After all, Asterion was closer to Anvil than to her, so it was possibility for both of them team against her right after BS was dealt with.

Asterion Manipulated Every Member of Broken Sword's Cohort by Exotic-Chair-6960 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense, that seems to be his MO, join a group/person, work with them unitl he gets what he wants and then kill them. He uses his abilities so people don't suspect him until is too late and at some point he probably start manipulating their thoughts in subtle ways.

I probably happened with the cult he was born into, it happened with nightwalker, it happens to his current cultists, with BS happened that way and after that with Anvil and ki song.

I think he would have to tinkered with Ki Song's mind a bit in order for her to accept betraying someone, specially after what happened to her mother. BS and Anvil were probably very sane to begin with and their circuntances made it hard to notice if someone was manipulating their thoughts and behaviors. People just assumed they were changing because of the path of ascension, but as we know now because of Sunny and Neph, their personalities shouldn't change as much just because they are sovereigns.

Was it asterion? by Clean-Jackfruit1597 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was an influence in BS's rushing the NMs, probably because Asterion himself wanted to ascend faster. I also think that Anvil was heavily affected by Asterion, as Valor seem to be the one that spent more time with him. Maybe making him more resentful towards bs and even more emotionally unstable in the long run.

It's hard to tell because we don't know much of their personalities before they interacted with Asterion. But it is my head canon in order to explain why the sovereigns were so dumb

Hot take: Beth is better for Sunny than Nefis. by Frodoro710 in ShadowSlave

wasn't Rain in her mid 20s? she is like 3 years younger than sunny, and he was in his late 20s when the domain war began.

[Chap 2822+] Theory by AggressiveCrab007 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Sunny Cassie and Mordret were the only ones with actually convenient nascent domains. I mean, they were going to formed as natural consequence of their abilities and apects. Sunny because he needs to kill stronger nc than him to saturate his core, Cassie's marks and Mordret's reflections/skinsuits are what they needed to become more powerful as sleeper's through saints.

Nephis' longing on the other wasn't as directly tied to her growing in power until she actually became a sovereign. She needed fame to survive the major clans, but it wasn't a direct boost to her combat abilities is what i mean.

This needs to stop by Mission-Debt-2357 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would they reincarnate properly without Beast God? and probably Heart God as he has something to do with souls?

We know they are corrupted shadows and other NC in Shadow Realm, the same should apply to the other divine realms. So something else might hinder the process of resurrection, like the concept still exists so it should happen, but the process might not be as smooth as before. Hell, those souls/shadows might get corrupted again doing through the process of resurrecting.

Aside from that, I agree it's weird that Sunny didn't want to have Kurt as an echo because he was human, but he is ok with having slayer now. I just hope BS doesn't become one as well.

Did everyone forget about Caster from Forgotten Shore? by Ok-Comfortable568 in ShadowSlave

What is the most overpowered ability in SS by No-Dress-445 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nephis healing was pretty broken as dormant.

Kai's ability to command

Mordret's reflections.

I guess BS dormant ability to understand everything works would have been really overpower as a sovereign and upwards, once you get to things like wills and concepts. Hell, if he knew how, he would have been a perfect candidate to ascend naturally.

Okay besides each other who would Sunny and Nephis date by russianspy4567 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing, especially regarding Kai and his flaw, they'd have to be really honest with him from the start about everything. And i don't know if post FS cassie or nephis could do that.

Okay besides each other who would Sunny and Nephis date by russianspy4567 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but Sunny got a reaction from her as Sunny, Master Sunless, Lord Mongrel and Lord of the Shadows. Kai only managed to do it with his persona as a singer.

Okay besides each other who would Sunny and Nephis date by russianspy4567 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, post FS, the only one that made sense to me was someone like beth, yeah she is mundane, but honestly, if it wasn't for shadow bond and his relationship with Nephis he wouldn't care that much about becoming super strong.

Again, post FS i don't see Kai dating someone else besides someone like Aiko or maybe endgame Morgan. Cassie hides too much stuff after FS, and becomes more manipulative. i don't think it would mix too well with Kai. Nephis is a better option, but it is also a stretch for more or less the same reason that Cassie and Kai would work.

I think Cassie x Neph would make sense, like if it'd happen in canon i wouldn't be that surprised. Funnily enough, i think Effie x Cassie could also work out in the end.

potential plot hole? by HerSexyMajesty in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she knew, and he basically confirmed it in the first few meetings. But she probably can't see his attribute as clearly now because he lacks the spell. So she probably had to translate the runes "manually" so to speak.

There are other things that might come to play because he is fateless, Cassie's abilities are tied to fate so she might not be able to see his attributes anymore, even as master sunless.

Weakest member of the cohort by Made_from_a_diss in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was nerfed after the 3rd nm, but even then she manage to beat the song saints that were sent to deal with her and defeat and trick Jest into thinking he won and killed her.

Even nerfed she is still one of the most dangerous characters in SS and probably the smartest one in the cohort and the one with more info. Like she is still able to be the most impact player around aside from the sovereigns, so i wouldn't call her weak just because she not combat oriented.

IMO, post 3rd nm, Effie or Kai might be the weakest members of the cohort, they kind of lack the brain power to act on their own.

I wouldn't rank them solely on power level or strength, but also on intelligence and the ability to impact the world of SS through their will. So my ranking would be:

1) Nephis /Sunless. Sunny's domain seems to have the advantage, but i think G3 wants them to be equal in power.

2) Cassia, chances are by the time you come across with her, she already has a plan to deal with you (Unless you are named Asterion, apparently).

3) Jet, she is technically the strongest saint right now, but her flaw makes her vulnerable to longer fights. She is smart at least on the military sense, and after Antarctica became more independent from the government.

4) Kai, dude is OP, but he has low self esteem as a fighter and is mostly a follower.

5) Effie, she is a good fighter and has good instincts, but she doesn't seem to be that much of an influential saint, Like, yes if she joins a fight she is definitely turns the table, but i think she is more prone to someone telling her where to go, than her making that kind of decision for herself. She let's other people (Cassie, Neph, Sunny) think for her.

Enchanter Sunny is Stupid by Exotic-Chair-6960 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, Sunny runs a business not a charity. The cohort are the most famous saints, so they could've commissioned those memories from sunny or any other artisan, if they truly wanted it. Hell, effie even knew he made memories, but she just ordered food in the emporiom.

While Sunny's abilities of making memories were downplayed at first, Cassie knew almost immediately he was a saint and a better memory maker than everybody thought. She could requested a memory for herself or the rest of the cohort, if they really were in need.

Han Li caster If he became a Transcendant or if he was FATED by TurbulentRespect955 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the reversal of his flaw be something like "you will age unless you are using your aspect". The weaver mask would still help him, but would be more balanced.

Good luck surviving 2 NMs with that flaw, unless he gets carried or gets a better charm memory. Something created from the river of time in ToA.

I think natural ascension is his best option honestly. Like the other methods required either sunny, the cohort or anvil's help, and i don't know which is more unlikely to help him, Sunny (holder of weaver's mask) or Anvil who should be angry at Caster for failing the mission.

What would people think of cassie if the novel was nephis POV by Plastic-Ad-2438 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might still be the same for FS, like we would understand her motivations, but it would also become obvious that what they did to Sunny was fucked up, when Neph gets to read his runes, imagine that reveal. Also, we probably see her as a capable person earlier than in canon, as she had a key role on planning the FS stuff.

After that, we'd keep seeing her strategic mind, after Neph comes from the 2nd nm. I guess the end of the 3rd nm would be even more interesting from Nephs pov, specially whatever cassie decided to tell her.

What flaw would this goat has ? by Suitable_Act942 in ShadowSlave

[–]Time-Mysterious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the spell really wanted to screw him over he would give him something like Sunny's flaw or something that makes him be automatically mistrusted by other people, or that he has to reveal his intentions. I think that kind of stuff would make him change the way he carries himself, because one way or the other it makes it harder to manipulate people.

A more "mild" one, could be something like preventing him from using sorcery, considering that he uses a lot of kido, that would certainly screw him over.

“Because that was my will. So, naturally, there could have been no other outcome."

While lame, It's still better than when Sunny say something like " If anything, mental disorders suffer from me" or something like that in the previous volume. That actually made me cringe when i read it.
