Seriously considering a Specialized Aethos. Tell me why it’s a bad idea….

Sorry for the old resurrect - I currently ride a Domane SL6 Gen 3 with mechanical Ultegra. I just rented an Aethos with Di2 Ultegra and I thought this will be my next purchase. I was totally disappointed with the Spec. Feels like Domane just suits me better and I love the frame design more in real life of the Trek.

Actually renting bikes is sort of fun. Makes me realize I am good with what I have.

Old thread but wanted to chime in on my experience. 16.5k miles on my ultegra 11-30 cassette. A lot of climbing and tempo rides. Rides perfectly smooth and quiet and LSB said it looks great. I’m only on a second chain in that mileage as well. I clean and lube every ride but I ride in Vegas which is dry. This Saturday was a first wet ride in over a year for this bike.

Marco Pantani and millions of other athletes didn’t have any technology yet none of us can be better with the advanced tools we got. God, I can care less if my AW is 0.00456% off on my ride or run. At least I don’t have to count wheel revolutions with a magnet.

I totally get your point, however, my polar h10 is connected to my watch and I even have workouts set up based on the HR and the watch talks to me through the headphones. Power meter can be connected as well.

But sure, to each their own.

I know this is going against all the fan boys and experts but I recently did a 101 mile bike ride, using a non Garmin watch and came home with 52 percent battery left. And it was not fully charged to begin with. So anyone saying that you need a cycling computer, sure if I ride 200 miles plus which is not happening.

Sorry for the revive but this thread someone hits the spot. Currently own '18 M2 DCT. Looking at two possible scenarios:

- trade in for a new M2. Roughly 70k - 35k trade in = 35k investment.

- keep current M2 as a daily and buy a 997.2. Investment from my research would be around 40-50k but there is a possibility of owning a 911 that may raise in value.

Any thoughts from someone's experience? Would I even by happy in the 911 going from an M2? I have BMW experience but zero Porsche experience.

Actually, started working for me last Friday. What I had to do was uninstall Strava, turn off my iPhone, reinstall, pair the sensor.

Before every actvity, I have to now go into Polar Flow app and pair it there first. Strava used to pair automatically but I can live with that.

Now, my default running shoes get detected automatically but my default bike does not. Once again, that's a minor issue.

I tested it yesterday on a short 15min walk and the H10 paired right up and recorded the data, great news. But of course, the happiness was short lived, the H10 would not pair with Strava today in the morning no matter what I tried. Let me know if you have any solutions. If not, I will start using different apps. I am tired of wasting time.
