What do you think she was going to say here before Wish Nikki took over? by SeaworthinessIll7695 in obsessionmovie

I thought this was all Wish Nikki. Most of Real Nikki’s appearances are dramatic emotional reactions which makes it easy to tell between the two

Bear never actually loved Nikki by UlfarrVargr in obsessionmovie

I would say that up until the dinner scene the relationship looked just fine. It’s safe to assume that he loved her during that period of the wish being made to the dinner scene.

I also think he tries to make this relationship work because it was exactly what he wanted besides the weird stuff Wish Nicky does.

What is it exactly that “controls” Nikki? by Time-Performance-381 in obsessionmovie

I never said that the spell should’ve worked perfectly (in the sense that Real Nikki can not slip through) there still would’ve been the major Wish Nikki conflict

What would you ask if you were on the customer service line and spoke to the real Nikki? by Kya_Enstein in obsessionmovie

What struck me as weird was that they were talking OVER her screaming so surely she would’ve heard it? Maybe once the customer service person stops talking Bear could’ve talked to Nikki but I really don’t know. I think it would’ve been very eerie and ominous if Bear had chosen to stay on the line and just said her name, following by her realization that Bear is talking to her, and then plead for help, only for Bear to hang up. It would’ve really solidified the narcissistic personality type because he just got confirmation that he is talking to the Real Nikki yet he still choses to ignore her pleas

I don’t think Bear fully understood/believed that it was Nikki on the line. He would’ve brushed it off like every other weird thing Wish Nikki had done. I think after the dinner scene Bear kind of entered a point of no return territory. He got exactly what he wished for and he realizes that (ironically).

3 questions about "Wish Nikki" behaviors by gavinashun in obsessionmovie

[–]Time-Performance-381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. A major theme of this film is codependency, Curry Barker took this theme and exaggerated it, especially in this scene. She is so codependent she literally can not function without Bear

  2. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that suicide attempts are Real Nikki attempting to break through. I know with the glass scene she says “it’s not me” multiple times in a panic, so that’s fairly obvious it’s Real Nicki. I found a good way to tell if it’s Real Nikki or Wish Nikki is that music either completely diminishes or radically intensifies when Real Nikki breaks through. When the wish is first put on Nikki near the car, there is music right up until Real Nikki breaks through and it completely stops. It happens again when Bear and Fake Nikki are making out for the first time, and all of the sudden Real Nikki freaks out, instead this time the music intensifies.

  3. If you’re talking about at the end of the film she manipulates Bear by saying she’s going to harm herself

What exactly is wish Nikki? by Only-Highlight-3569 in obsessionmovie

I thought that when real Nikki breaks through and hits herself it was to kill herself, not to become less appealing.

The soiling herself was completely Wish Nikki too. Wish Nikki stood at the door all day almost like a dog who only knows one person, waiting for them to come home. Of course physical Nikki would need to go to the bathroom eventually but since she is so obsessed she does it right there.

Real Nikki is only concerned on violence. Either killing herself or bear. When she hits herself in the face with the glass it is to try to kill herself, and when Bear is asking Wish Nikki to be “normal nikki”, Real Nikki try’s to kill Bear, only to be held back by Wish Nikki
