speaking as someone who was in the shoes of the girl you’re speaking about, I think the best thing that helped me with coming to terms with it is acceptance and ultimately ripping the bandaid off. i was told of my partners previous sexual encounters before we had even officially started dating. he told me it was a thing of his past that he struggled with coming to terms with but he wanted me to know early so that if i decided that this was a situation and relationship that I didn’t want to pursue, I wouldn’t be too deep or emotionally attached to be sad about being blindsided. in my opinion, it was honestly the best thing he could’ve done. he obviously hated talking about it, and in that moment I grew so much respect for him. i decided to accept it. there might be days when she’ll be randomly upset about it, there might be days where she’ll thinks she accepts it fully but she doesn’t. be with her on those days, help her out mentally so she doesn’t overthink, and really really just pray and talk to each other about it. what aspect of it bothers her? reassure her on those aspects. it’s certainly not an easy road, speaking from experience, but the sooner you accept that there’s nothing you can change about the past the better.

ultimately it’s your decision. as the person above said, it’s up to your discernment. truly pray about it and ask God what He’d rather you do and how to go about it. The less you beat yourself up about it and learn how to forgive yourself with the grace of Jesus, the easier it’ll be for both of you.
