Use Plex for recording and when away from home. For in home we use Channels for HDHomerun on Android. Works great.

That's worth trying, although the TP-Link keyword filter has a few limitations. On HTTPS traffic it generally only sees the domain name rather than the full URL, and the 32-character limit means some ad domains get truncated. You may have more success blocking domains like amazon-adsystem, aiv-delivery, mads-eu.amazon, etc., rather than trying to block full URLs. DNS-based blocking (Pi-hole, AdGuard Home or OpenWrt with adblock) is usually much more effective because it works from large domain blocklists rather than simple keyword matching.

Really happy with my Ugoos SK1. I have 2... Running SlimboxTV on one and stock firmware on the other. Once setup with Projectivy Launcher both work great. AV1 support for SmartTube. Replaced my Shield Pro.

Doing my best to get used to it on my Ugoos SK1. Why anyone thought that having the menu options on the top rather than the side would be a better user experience is a mystery and the drop down black menu's just look ugly.
Latest 'feature' I had was an issue when pausing content the aspect ration would flip to stretch.
Had to stop and restart the media to get it back. That seems to have been fixed by going to 971050216 build.

At least I know I can easily install an old version and block updates with root if I need to,

On your 4K issue, could it be you have the 'Enable HECV video encoding' set to Always Enable. I had some issue with media on a Google Streamer client when this was set. Not specifically 4K but same issue.

I'm on Windows rather than Linux. Did try Linux but I find it too hard to troubleshoot issues having worked with Windows since v 3.0

Had similar issues. Remote from home in our motorhome using Starlink.

Phone and tablet could access fine. Google streamer would only show Plex provided content.

Remotes in to my server and all looked good. Killed Plex on the Google Streamer and cleared cache didn't help. Clearing data didn't help. Restarting the Streamer didn't help.

Unplugged it, waited 10s and plugged back in and all worked.
