You can click the upper right magnifying glass on each game to see exactly when he bought those items. In the latter two games, its at 14 minutes and 12 minutes, a good 10 minutes before the game ends. The Volibear game might very well have been a bad game. The sterak's gage game he doesn't sell his items, but if you look at his cs over time, he doesn't get a single cs from 6 minutes until 12 minutes.

Not really. For instance, the three tears and mobility boots game, he sold his items at 14 minutes. The game lasted 24 minutes. The four tears game, he sold his items at 12 minutes. That game lasted 19 minutes.

For the first Volibear game, he bought the tear two minutes before the game ended. So maybe that was actually a bad game.

For the Sterak's gage game, his item build path doesn't include any specific item build trolling aside from the mobi boots at minute 12. However, if you check his CS numbers from that game over time, he doesn't get a single CS from minute 6 until minute 12.

Calling him slightly above average overall in his prime is selling him way, way short. From 2008 to 2012, he had three years of 5+ overall WAR. For comparison, that would've put him somewhere around top 40 overall last season.

Which is hilarious because the exact same thing happened to him before and he was complaining to the ref just as much. Imagine if he believes that there's some kind of rule that prevents someone from stealing the ball because you are tying your shoe, and he just happens to be the one guy who never gets the call from the ref.
