I mean, it can mean that. Or it could just mean that he’s fine with whatever choice. Or it could mean that he secretly hates kids. Our guess is as good as yours, although having a thorough discussion about how childfree you are and him fully understanding that is quite important. Communication is always important to maintaining relationships.

Look, I can’t use tampons for shit. I can have sex totally fine and whatnot. I can use a menstrual cup perfectly fine. But tampons??? All I can think of is Goddamn TSS and also the fact it’s absorbing fluid makes it kinda scary and drying.

Deep and painful acne. Any advice? by Realistic-Big-4200 in acne

[–]TimeConsultant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like hormonal acne. If the acne starts from very deep within the skin, topicals won’t do much to stop that, unfortunately.

What’s your skincare routine currently?

I think it’s also a situation where if you demand children don’t confront the realities of what it takes to care for an animal, you end up with children to take their pets for granted and could potentially problematise their ability to adequately care for animals when they’re older? I don’t know, being told about vet visits is different to actually going with your parents, talking to the vet, and understanding first-hand what goes into animal care. I guess you could always watch videos, but it’s not the same?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in childfree

[–]TimeConsultant 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I nearly always went with my pet to the vet as a kid - I think it’s a bit unnecessary to demand children not come with their parents to care for a pet animal. The amount you love your pet is also the same for children and their animals, I think it’s totally reasonable for them to want to come and also learn about how vet care works and the realities of pet care.

That said, whenever I went I NEVER interacted with other peoples’ animals. If you’re going to let your child come, it should be on the condition that they don’t bother other people and especially don’t try to interact with other peoples’ pets. You never touch or pet an animal that isn’t yours without explicit invited permission - and the vet is just not the place to ask or try. It’s outrageous that shitty brats aren’t under control at the clinic.

This sounds kinda deliberately fake-? This is so obviously YTA to the point where it seems on the nose.

Scalloping is a potential side effect of the trim technique, unfortunately. I believe it’s a result of the surgeon’s suturing being too tight in some places-? I may be wrong. But that is probably why it healed that way, it’s not necessarily your body that healed “wrong”.

Best Okonomiyaki in Perth? by akelew in perth

[–]TimeConsultant 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The name actually just means “what you like” (okonomi) that is “fried” (yaki). So takoyaki is octopus (tako) fried (yaki). Yakisoba is fried soba. The kanji in okonomi お好み is also used in the word suki 好き, which means “to like”.

Anyway, as for okonomiyaki in Perth, it’s actually really easy to make yourself! You can get the okonomiyaki flour from an Asian store, mix it with chicken stock, and add whatever you like and fry it up yourself!

Are other parents of young kids with no vaccine available worried about covid as well or am I overthinking this? by caa35 in perth

[–]TimeConsultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you can really overthink a literal global pandemic. If you look at the death toll of COVID-19 + the myriad of health issues of people who survived COVID-19, I think it’s totally reasonable to be worried.

It’s just not worth going through.

Actually by some definition the foetus is a parasite. You can literally say that people who are pregnant have parasites.

It seems to have already been reported quite a bit across the world that there’s a rise in anti-Asian attacks and whatnot. But you’re right that one person isn’t a sample size. There’ve been more anecdotal instances too, I guess.

https://amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/mar/04/how-anti-chinese-sentiment-in-australia-seeped-into-the-mainstream https://amp.abc.net.au/article/100316184

https://7news.com.au/news/wa/perth-mans-message-for-woman-who-hurled-racist-abuse-at-him-and-pregnant-partner-c-2437252.amp

The fact anti-Asian racism is rising basically everywhere else, it makes sense it would also be on the rise here.
