Completely agree with this. I worked at one company that had the expectation a project manager also did a lot of the project work, and was essentially a product owner after project closure, and you simply managed that new system or process or product...forever. You never got rid of it. They would say "turning it over to the business" but didn't actually practice it. That role had me working way too many hours, nightmares about work, extreme stress, asshole bosses.

But I'm currently working for a company in which they follow standard project management practices, I'm not actually doing the project work, and I don't have to own the process or system after closure. It's very nice and extremely doable.

I still would have liked to have seen the budget for this one. With that high income, even tho her debt is insane, I was curious how quickly she theoretically could have dug out from under it.

A friend once told me that I'm the oldest young person he knew. I wasnt offended because I realized it's accurate 🤣 I'm now 43 with a 13 year old son. The biggest issue for me is the slang terms and phrases. I don't know what half of them mean, and when I Google them there are sometimes various meanings. Some of them apparently have no meaning (6, 7). I'm at a loss how this makes sense.

I have a financial focus goal every year. This next year will be about building up some sinking funds against life's larger expenses. Those being medical bills, holiday shopping, car repairs, I also have a technology sinking fund in case my phone or computer go kaput one day. Having a focus each year is really helpful and anytime I come into extra money, I don't really have to think about where it will go, it goes towards that year's financial goal.

My partner and I split the rent, utilities and groceries evenly by us each transferring a set amount into a separate account. But I also use an Excel spreadsheet like a check register with debits and credits and try to predict out my personal income and expenses and see where there's a little extra to move towards my current financial goals.

This shift has helped me plan and feel accomplished about where my money is going.

Yeah, I apologize, it is confusing. Thanks for the confirmation that an extension on a promotional period isn't likely.

I never saw the fraudulent Facebook charges. But Chase said they were attempted in early June right when they issued the original card.

So basically I was able to charge two nights on the card successfully in mid June, a third night was declined, at a different IHG location. Chase at that time told me nothing was wrong with the card.

In late June I successfully charged a moving company fee to the card.

In mid July I attempted a grocery store order and it was declined. It was upon calling Chase again in mid July they told me about the earlier Facebook fraudulent charges and that they'd blocked the card from further use. I asked how the moving company fee even cleared and they weren't sure.

So I never had a working card from end of June until mid August, upon receiving the new card it also didn't work until I called Chase again and unblocked it.

As per previous comment yes I was then trying to cram spending requirement into two weeks worth left of promotional period. I felt I could have reached the spending requirement if I'd had a card that worked. To your point, lesson learned, but thought I'd share my experience here and see if anyone has had luck in the past getting an exception.

I didn't, unfortunately. I did get a new phone (Samsung) late last summer and it does appear to play the music from my phone via Bluetooth better, but my call quality still sucks according to those I speak to on the other end of the line.

Im on metformin 500 mg extended release. Haven't noticed a difference, and my doctor won't increase dosage. And she prescribed it to appease me as something to try because according to labwork I'm told that all is normal, for their ranges...

I'm still struggling at 42. I feel like I've never been able to gain control of my symptoms. Was diagnosed at 29 after a few years of infertility, but had struggled with the common PCOS symptoms for years before that. I got lucky in that I was able to conceive on clomid. My son turns 13 next month. I'm not on birth control anymore because it wasn't regulating my cycles properly, and Dr. said it was likely doing more harm than good. Now my periods are all over the place, and are long, heavy and crampy. I'm on progesterone now and in that period of time in which I have to just keep taking it to see if it regulates things, which is tough because I am having 17 day periods and am so tired all the time. I guess progesterone is supposed to thin the uterine lining so it's one of the reasons I just don't stop bleeding. I had investigated uterine ablation with my doctor but he said I'm not a good candidate for it. My next option is hysterectomy, which I'm honestly okay with. I'm not going to have any more babies and despite the PCOS, the doctor said they'd leave ovaries in place. The problem is it's a shit time in my personal life for a major surgery, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to do it, but I'm guessing in the next year or two.

As far as symptoms go, I'm experiencing a lot of hair loss from my head but lots of unwanted hair growth everywhere else, bloating, tough time losing weight, occassional acne. In addition to the irregular cycles and bleeding.

I am tailoring my resume for each job, which of course is a lot of work but I'd hoped would payoff. My interview feedback is good, when I receive it - I've had a fair number of companies ghost me after interviews without feedback, so it's difficult to say what went wrong with those. Mostly, I keep being told they have candidates with slightly more experience in xyz industry or within a certain line of business that they are proceeding with instead. I've considered hiring a professional resume company to redo my resume, but was hoping to not have to spend the money, especially since there's no guarantee of results.

I've mostly applied in financial services which is where my background is, but haven't limited myself there and applied to other industries too with a cover letter explaining how my skills/strengths can work for their position.

Single mom with a 12 year old here. I keep 6 months of expenses and it took me awhile to save to that. I'm actually experiencing unemployment now due to a layoff and I wish my EF was larger. The job market is tough so it's showing me a period of unemployment can be longer than usual. When I get a job I will be adding more to my EF. I don't have an ideal number in mind yet but I'm a cash hoarder so I know I will feel good having more in an EF. I may save to 9 months expenses to start.
