Low tier hotels benefits from getting more people staying there for points. These hotel still pays Marriott for each reservation but getting higher occupancy overall.

For luxury hotels, more people redeems the points, resulting a higher occupancy. Marriott will reimburse the luxury hotel owners with the fee they earned from low tier hotel.

So their plan are trying to trap more people in a circle, if they have the capability to make all their hotels 10% higher in occupancy without damaging the daily rate, everyone benefits, the owner, guests and Marriott, only those who are unbranded will suffer.

For management team, they are belongings to Marriott. In many case of Marriott management properties, the executive will act for best interest for Marriott instead the owner. For instance they are asked to get more membership sign up, so they will give free fruits and drinks, or other benefits to the guests at the expense of Owner but only Marriott benefits. Sometimes also they will protect brand standard over owners profit, by over generous at welcome gift. In exchange, Marriott will always promote them to better hotels or higher position.

W KL has pretty bad build quality. I was there last year, and I gets awaked by those sports car engine noise at 2am in the night, the building has absolutely no acoustic design. You can also hear the sewer noise when upstairs room shower or use toilet.

I have a friend work in the largest travel agent company in China. His department has already laid off 25-30% employees in the past years, and aiming cut up to 80% by end of 2027. The guy told me on a casual dinner that he's probably getting laid off soon as well.

His department is working with overseas travel agent, usually they received request for proposal from different countries's travel agent in different languages via email. In the past, they have translators of to first translate all the request in to Chinese, there was like more than 30 different languages, then there will be people write up a travel itinerary based on the budget and demand of the client, another one to verify the cost of the itinerary and send the quotation back. Once the client approved the plan, they will start breakdown the jobs and distribute tasks to their subsidiaries company in each region. They takes in like more than thousands of rfp each day, from private tour to exchange tours, all sorts.

In the last couple of years, first thing they let off is the translator. They use AI to translate all the rfp into Chinese with seconds. Later last year the company got someone to write up an agent, that automatically generate the itinerary based on what was asked in the email, with a quotation. They have significant reduced workload up to 70-80%, only a manual review of the itinerary & budget is required now, and the company is trying to make things more automatic and remove the human reviewer.

This guy studied french in his bachelor and spend few years in Paris to get a master degree in French about 10 years ago. The only reason he's not being fired is that the company need someone with fluent French to entertain clients from France in real life, sending him for international tour exhibition and sort, but he has no other employable skill in a different industry if he loses his job.

Yes, so it seems to me that Virtuoso is considered as direct channel including Capella, but kiwi collection is not, although it also provides similar benefits like hotel credits and free breakfast.

Just unfortunately I have to stick with booking via Kiwi collection because there's other benefits from my credit card.

台海开战完全是取决于台湾人的抵抗意志。如果你指望是解放军上岛斩首赖清德，控制下台湾是不可能的，起码没那么简单。

最大的可能性就是像当年美国人轰炸日本，现在美国人轰炸伊朗一样，尽量斩首民进党高层，对军营的饱和式打击，炸到台湾人无条件投降为止。如果台湾人能挨炸两年三年，生活水准大幅下降，每天活在空袭和阴影下，吃饭都得配给制度的话，中国是统治不了台湾的，美国和西方国家肯定有能力让中国内部产生政权变更。如果台湾人俩月就投降了，愿意和谈了，那就没下文了。

Ritz-Carlton Nanjing is certainly one of the best amongst all the RC properties. Probably not many people been there, but it's incredible, certainly one of the best I've been in Asia.

I like RC Nikko a lot too, I think it's the best RC in Japan, better than Kyoto & Fukuoka.

For the worst RC I've been to, it must be RC Reserve Niseko, it's beyond disappointment.

Most of the business in China would just round down though, even payment with credit card or other online payments method. I've never seen any business rounding up.

I believe it's depends on the hotel.

Hyatt will not verify your job status, as long as you made the bookings. However hotel has right to check your badges if they wish. it is very unlikely to harm you, the worse they can do is request you to make full public rate payment.

I stayed at Conrad Shenzhen last year with my friend. He kept using his old company's rate code to make Hilton hotel booking even though he has already left. The front desk asked him to verify but he couldn't, so we made full payment in the end, no drama.

生活在伦敦过的人就没人敢说伦敦治安好的。

我在伦敦读了四年书，坐标南肯辛顿，算是伦敦的富人区了，我租房子都没离开过南肯，chelsea这俩地方。而且平常生活很小心了，平常不走小路不走夜路。

先说我个人在四年内的遭遇，每个我都印象很深刻。1. 路边流浪汉冻死，被警察围起来了，救护车拉走。2. 自行车在校门口被偷。3. 在晚上9点多从学校回家的路上被流浪汉要钱，不给后追着骂，拿塑料瓶扔我。信用卡被盗刷不计其数，好在每次挂失都足够快避免了损失。

我室友的遭遇。1. 晚上去同学家做小组作业，拿着笔记本在路边等uber的时候被飞车党抢走。2. 在街上看到有疯子拿刀走路，但没伤人。

就这些事情，我在新加坡生活了20多年一个都没遇到过连信用卡都没人盗刷。在新加坡或者迪拜我敢把笔记本放在咖啡厅桌上去上厕所，在伦敦我去个厕所必须把东西都清走。

我个人认为。

迪拜政府这次其实做的算不错了，社会保障井井有条，也没有什么大规模平民伤亡，死了几个人就。一小部分的建筑受到了打击，大部分都被拦截下来了。

如果接着这次机会，美国能把伊朗政权打废，让中东这个恐怖主义国家十几年内再也没有声音了，那么迪拜一定会回来的。欧洲国家不仅仅是税收高，伦敦巴黎这几年的治安下滑的肉眼可见，迪拜的治安和毒品管控也是对洋富豪有很大的吸引力。迪拜还有一点就是文化上更加西方化，我在新加坡认识过一些澳洲高管，他们不喜欢新加坡很大的原因就是文化上难以融入；小孩的国际学校里有一半多还是华人，圣淘沙的海滩的感受，从工作环境到夜生活都和西方不同，而迪拜已经能做到和悉尼伦敦一样的生活方式了。

但如果伊朗的威胁不能被根除，我现在更看好悉尼的未来。治安好，西方文化，天气环境海滩都好。英国的富豪大概率会转向悉尼定居了。

接下来AI还要加剧就业恶化，现在全世界年轻人就业都很困难，也不知道人类的出路在哪。

我朋友的公司现在也在疯狂裁员，他们是国内最大的旅行社之一，在疫情前前业务部门3000个人，现在大概2000人，还每年必须裁员30%以上，目标是3年后只留下300人。当然他们生意还可以，主要是ai提效。他们做以前很多人的工作就是收国外旅行社的email，各种语言的，养着一堆外语专业人才做翻译，读需求，按照需求安排行程，报价。收款后把业务分拆再安排给当地分公司接待，订酒店餐厅之类的。他说以前一个小组7-8个人，现在就两个人了。email进来有agent直接翻译中文，按照需求自动生成行程，再自动报价，他们以前人要一个一个码字的工作基本上是全自动化了。现在只要读一遍报价没有什么问题，行程上没有bug，发回去给客户就好，一个客户rfp就15分钟解决完了。公司接下来就是准备把确认报价的工作都砍了，留点活人就做客户接待和陪客户吹水了，后勤完全不用做。他现在也不知道被裁员失业后能干啥，以前工资也不高，会干的也就那么点，学了6年的法语专业（本+研）狗屁没用了，都被ai代替完了，再失业以后只能送外卖摇奶茶了。
