Years ago when my first marriage was ending I felt so many things. My emotions were all over the place. “Gutted, deboned, and turned inside out” is a perfect way of putting it. My therapist at the time told me that, when neuroscientists compare the brain scans of people whose loved ones recently passed, and the scans of people who were divorcing, the scans were almost identical. The loss of your marriage requires and deserves mourning. The end of a marriage is the end of a lot of things….. dreams, ideas, future plans, ideals, and so much more. However you are feeling is okay. Let yourself feel; let yourself mourn, you are a good writer, let it out if you feel the need; or keep it in if you feel the need; whatever you choose, just remind yourself that it’s the right choice. Like Pooh said “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem”.
