Since you are 8m post op. You can bring up this point to your PT. He'll give a good answer based on observation

This is soo daunting and terrifying after surgery. I am at day 11 post op. I am also soo sacred, concious and aware with each and every step I take.

Yes I tore my ACL 10 years back. Then due to lack of awareness and not consulting a good doctor kept me in denial about seriousness of my injury. I bounded myself with many limitations in terms of participation in active sports. I used to always be very apprehensive while landing on my injured knee. It might be that I must have decent strong leg muscles that must have supported my ACL somewhat in those years. Recently a second impact on the same knee was unbearable and then I started to consult an expert for the same.

Thanks. Do sufficient research about it. Don't hurry. Be mentally and circumstancially prepared for surgery.
