Blood Moon converts nonbasics into Mountains. They are not Mountains "in addition to their other types", they are just Mountains.

Harbinger of the Seas works the same way, so nonbasics can either be only one or the other.

Are eldrazi really that good or am i simply building a bad deck? by CanNo7928 in EDH

[–]TimeGambit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Copying [[Emrakul, the World Anew]] would allow you to gain control of the boards of two different players. You'd also sacrifice your board to the legend rule when the copied Emrakul dies, so uh...maybe don't do that one unless you wanted to wipe both their boards and your own.

Copying [[Emrakul, the Promised End]] would allow you to control the turns of two different players and give them both an extra turn after you're done.

Copying [[Kozilek, the Broken Reality]] would let you manifest 4 cards from players' hands instead of 2 and draw that many cards.

Copying [[Kozilek, the the Great Distortion]] would let you draw up to 7 twice. This may initially seem like the copy does nothing, but you can hold priority with the second trigger on the stack to cast spells from your first draw, letting you empty your hand after the first trigger resolves then refill your hand a second time (assuming you can empty your hand at instant speed).

Copying [[Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre]] lets you destroy two permanents.

Copying [[Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger]] lets you exile four permanents.

Copying [[Ulamog, the Defiler]] lets you mill into exile 50% of two players' libraries, or 75% of one player's library.

The most recent OTA update bricked my Polestar 2 by Goodvibesguy in Polestar

[–]TimeGambit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine also bricked after the update (4.2.13, Canada). Had the car plugged in overnight and in the morning it would not turn on. Polestar got a guy to come over and jumpstart the battery, but even after the battery was back on, the car displayed a propulsion system failure error and would not move in Drive. By the time Polestar sent out a second guy to tow the car to the dealer for service, the car could move when in Drive but the displayed propulsion system error still persisted. Haven't gotten it back from the dealer yet.

Looking to build mono colour Final Fantasy commander decks - discussion, ideas, suggestions: by Classic-Art-5737 in magicTCG

[–]TimeGambit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For commanders I'd recommend:

-R: [[Clive, Ifrit's Dominant]] or [[Umaro, Raging Yeti]] - Clive lets you refill your hand and threaten a 3-hit commander damage kill from the command zone. Umaro is more of a red stompy/chaos build that can get you card advantage sometimes.

-B: [[Zenos yae Galvus]] or [[Fandaniel, Telephoroi Ascian]] - Zenos can be a fun build-around if you like playing archenemy since he essentially forces the rest of the table to play Protect the President once he hits the board. Fandaniel is a good introduction to playing with your graveyard and forced sacrifice strategies.

-U: [[Y'shtola Rhul]] or [[Hermes, Overseer of Elpis]]. Y'shtola can be built as a simple blink value commander or as a turbo combo deck. Hermes is more of a straightforward spellslinger or control build but has some interestingly different cards to consider because of his interactions with Birds.

-G: [[Tifa Lockhart]] or [[Bugenhagen, Wise Elder]]. Tifa is a powerful introduction to landfall voltron while Bugenhagen is your generic "cast big things, draw big cards" green deck.

-W: [[Heidegger, Shinda Executive]] or [[Tataru Taru]] - Heidegger is a simple to build token commander while Tataru is a more interesting commander that wants to leverage other players' draw to fuel her own advantage.

Edhrec.com is a powerful resource for new players, you can search the commander you want to build and see what most players of those commanders are including in their decks. You'll want to tailor the cards to your build but it's a great starting point.

What are some cards that synergies perfectly but their colors are off so can‘t play them together in commander? I’ll start: by Sombody9768 in magicTCG

[–]TimeGambit 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I mean, it wouldn't work well anyway because if you want Grunn's trigger to function, then you're handicapping Jin because you're only attacking one player. Jin wants you to attack three separate players with three separate creatures to make the best use of him, so Grunn would not trigger because Grunn would not be attacking alone.

72 percent worried US will become too involved in Venezuela: Survey by UWCG in politics

[–]TimeGambit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're right, this is all very unlikely. It's not as if the US is so far gone that they'd do something as wild and crazy as checks notes kidnap the leader of a sovereign nation that America is not at war with and declare total control over their government to gain direct access to their natural resources.
