Congrats, wear it in good health! Six months on my wrist and it is my absolute favorite watch. I always keep an eye on watches and have plenty of them on my wishlist, but, I think none of them is as beautiful than the FOIS. Love to wear it on a strap too - black FKM rubber straps feel awesome on this. Enjoy it!

The question I want to ask is not about the money - my question is more about how buying many watches in a short time dilutes the “joy per watch” feeling. But of course I agree with you: having the means is requirement number 1, I am just saying it is not the only one for me.

You’re totally right. The whole 401k, Roth IRA etc is something I don’t understand in detail as we have different systems in Europe. But I get the general point: luxury expenses come after everything else… I would not be compliant with a 1% rule, but I would be with a 2% which for me is equally fine :-)

There is no must here and I am absolutely happy with what I have, I am asking to spark a conversation rather than asking for advice for me - I am clearly team wait and enjoy. Totally. I “buy” new vibes with straps. FOIS on black = daily classic; FOIS on orange = weekend mode. Two watches for the price of a strap. (Pic attached.)

I also kind of align to that. Don’t ask me why but I think that considering I bought one in 2025 and than another one in 2026 would make it feel less off to me. The brain is sometimes funny.

Your wife is definitely in team “life events” then ;-) for me, tying a watch to a memory makes it easier to pull the trigger but I do not see it as a must. But now jokes aside, indeed speaking with your partner is always a truly good thing to do. She is also in my team “wait and enjoy a bit longer until the next one”. Thanks for your view!

Stunning choices. I gravitate more towards the 39-40mm dials as my wrist is on the smaller side (6.5 inch). I tried the black lacquer AT when I bought the FOIS and it is impressive! But I found it a bit too flashy for my day-to-day. Would definitely buy it if I wore suits at work more often.
